Look up irony in the dictionary, and by all rights you should find a footnote pointing to this news story from CBS re: Ferguson MO: Ferguson residents frustrated over lack of opportunity.
The story notes that the previous night was sufficiently quietjust eight arrestsand that the National Guard is pulling out (meaning, productive people are being released to go back to their day jobs.)
The irony arose when the reporter spoke to local Ferguson residents. The common theme among those interviewed was outrage that local businessesyou know, the ones that had been relentlessly looted and vandalized by local residentshad not hurried to rebuild and offer jobs to local residents. Huh. Who knew that robbing and burning local businesses might prove a disincentive to them investing and hiring in the community!
The reporter also notes that unemployment in Ferguson among black men 20 to 24 years of age is 46%. Forty. Six. Percent. Presumably that figure is pre-riots. Might it have doubled in the interval?
In any case, the fault is clearly that of the looted/burned businesses. As one local young man puts it, if they dont come back and rebuild these businesses, theres going to be hell to pay.
They are particularly upset that they now have to drive miles out of the way to access the products and services that used to be provided locally . . . by the businesses looted and burned down by local residents. Oops.

Oh? Are you going to burn down more buildings?
Morons.
Even a bird doesn’t foul its own nest.
Oh well. Hell it is.
Well all those outraged “citizens” had better band together and get to work with their hands, not their mouth.
“Ferguson resident: Theres going to be hell to pay if businesses dont rebuild”
Interesting approach to “incentive”. Uh, what about: “Our community is pledging to patronize any new store or rebuilt store in our community”?
Oh, yeah, silly me: “Holder’s-People Entitlement Syndrome” (HPES).
They can always throw old mattresses onto the charred barren lots if they refuse to rebuild.
So why the #$%^ did you burn down the places that would have probably gotten people hired. If you weren’t directly involved, then why not ask people who are so boastful about their stupidity in their actions.
Call it the Palestinian Mentality.
Ferguson. The town of friendly folks whose motto is, “You Build ‘Em! We Burn ‘Em!”
What about our community is pledging to volunteer to clean up the mess we made and work to rebuild what we destroyed.
There’s going to be Hell to pay anyway
Start your own bidnesses.
“They are particularly upset that they have to drive miles out of their way...”

Tough toenails.
Good call.
Sure we acted like asshats and stole from you and burnt you down but you better rebuild or we will not be able to act like asshats the next time!
Grand theft auto on the rise.
rename it New Detroit
Yeh what businessman wouldn’t want to invest his life savings in a business in “the hood”?
