He pulled up ahead of them. And then he got a call-in that there was a strong-arm robbery. And, they gave a description. And, hes looking at them and they got something in their hands and it looks like it could be what, you know those cigars or whatever. So he goes in reverse back to them. Tries to get out of his car. They slam his door shut violently. I think he said Michael did. And, then he opened the car again. He tried to get out. He stands up.And then Michael just bum-rushes him and shoves him back into his car. Punches him in the face and them Darren grabs for his gun. Michael grabbed for the gun. At one point he got the gun entirely turned against his hip. And he shoves it away. And the gun goes off.
Well, then Michael takes off and gets to be about 35 feet away. And, Darrens first protocol is to pursue. So, he stands up and yells, Freeze! Michael and his friend turn around. And Michael taunts him And then all the sudden he just started bumrushing him. He just started coming at him full speed. And, so he just started shooting. And, he just kept coming. And, so he really thinks he was on something.

Disregard.
trying out a different version of the story, run it up the flagpole and see if anybody salutes
You can hear it for yourself starting at the 6:28 mark on the video.
I’d be willing to throw a wager of a thousand on the toxicology report coming back with some interesting results. It won’t matter to the community....at least a quarter of the community is one something twenty-four hours a day. But I’d basically throw out any blame on the officer once the drug side of this comes out.
The guy was 6’4” and 290 pounds and is seen on video robbing and assaulting a little Asian guy half his size, five minutes before being shot by a cop.
Even idiots can connect those dots.
Except maybe you.
but but the chief said no, the policeman didn’t know MB was a robber
The thing I find interesting is that this part of the story actually helps fill in some of the pieces thought to be conflicting...
The statements to get on the sidewalk.
The young men were in the road.
How did it escalate.
He moved on but then realized they might be suspects in a broadcast robbery so he backs up to check them out further.
The statements about not shooting.
Taunting the officer that he wasn’t going to shoot.
Why did he shoot.
Suspect rushed him a second time.
It is just as plausible, if not more so, than a random execution in the streets.
And how does this anonymous second hand statement have less credibility than other non-standard second hand statements that have been all over the news? I’m not saying it should have more, but I don’t see how it has less.
The information is coming so fast and from so many sources, it is hard to tie down to reliable sources.
Chief said he wasn’t responding to the robbery, but admits he could very well have heard the radio traffic and that he did see the cigars...
Might I suggest watching the entire press conference or reading the transcript...
E PU-—
yes indeedy, I have seen the robbery vid
however, the PD chief said to the press that the policeman wasn’t aware of the robbery
and so far it is undisputed that policeman didn’t call in the “incident” shooting MB, why would you not call that in? eh?
yeah, I did, still there is a lot of unexplained stuff, like why did the policeman not call in that he had shot a guy?
Ferguson officer realized during encounter that Michael Brown might be suspect in robbery, chief says. The officer who shot Ferguson teen Michael Brown stopped Brown and another teen because they were walking in the street, not because of a robbery a few minutes earlier, Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson said Friday afternoon.
Jackson said the officer was aware cigars had been taken in the robbery of a store nearby, but did not know when he encountered Brown and Dorian Johnson that they might be suspects. He stopped them because they were walking in the street, Jackson said.
But Jackson told the Post-Dispatch that the officer, Darren Wilson, saw cigars in Brown's hand and realized he might be the robber.
Doesn’t matter. Wilson had been assaulted once, and Brown tried to take the gun. He was charging the officer for a second attack.
Do you know how many minutes elapsed between the time Brown was shot and the second officer arrived? And then the supervisor? And how long did it take Sgt Wilson to determine that Brown’s accomplice was not also a danger?
We don’t know that he didnt.
You are assuming that because the call log hasn’t been released that it doesn’t exist.
Something was called in... Either by Wilson or a citizen ... backup arrived within 3 mins of initial encounter.
Also, it has been reported that Wilson had been seriously injured by Brown and might have been unable to report immediately. There have been some reports that his jaw was broken.
