The insurance would prohibit the rebuilding of stores in black areas.
If I had a business in that community, then I would be actively looking to relocate.
Reviewing some of the videos you can ee the police running from the looters. For instance, go to 58 seconds on this video (you will have to left click the advertisement on this video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbv6QGhXj7g
However, after the looters left and there was little to no one on the streets....THAT”S when then the police came around trying to act all tough. Where were they when the looters were going nuts?
Not rebuilding would be raaaaaacist.
Chicago has moved to Missouri? How nice.
If I were Quik Trip....I’d be, “See ya! Been nice knowing you!”
It’s in EVERY city, just bubbling under the surface.
My guess is it pays. Why even bother having insurance or nor if it doesn’t.
It’s possible they don’t even have insurance, but unlikely because they are not a huge company. They may self-insure, like Wal Mart does, but I doubt it.
And put up a sign or other memorial that the burned out hulk is a fitting tribute to the feral gibbsmedat animals.
"You keep saying that word.
I do not think it means what you think it means"
When people such as President Obama and Eric Holder quit viewing everything through race-colored glasses, perhaps some of the problems plaguing minority communities could be solved.
Depends on the policy you buy. Obviously you pay more to cover damage caused by rioters.
Laura Ingraham had a fellow on her show today that owns two cell phone stores in Ferguson. He said one store was trashed and looted and that his insurance would pay.
So, if your store gets burned down in a riot does your insurance pay? Or are you just SOL?
Which will now make everyone else's premiums go up.
There’s a very good reason for the cops running from the rioters.
Had they stood their ground and shot them, the rioting would have gotten worse, and the individual cops involved very likely would be up on charges for excessive force, murder, etc. If acquitted in state court, they would be prosecuted in federal court for civil rights violations.
If I’m armed, but not allowed to shoot even to protect myself, I’d run away too.
No, they wouldn’t do that. The insurance companies would just jack up the rates to reflect risk if one did build in those areas. Many businesses, even the ones not hurt by the riots, will close their doors because of the new rates.
Just waitin for Oak Cliff to blow up.
When’s the John Wiley Price trial?
How does he know where these mobs are from, anyhow? Do they wear the names of their home towns on their backs? I'll bet every male between 10 and 40 that lives in little Ferguson has been out on the streets the past two nights, either swelling the mob with their rubbernecking or actively participating in looting for their gimmes to take home.
If these criminals were home-grown black Muslims with their faces covered with knit stockings with eye-slits, they'd be called "terrorists". Because they're just yutes from Fergie and outlying communities, they're called "protesters", "disaffected teens"....and less.
LET'S CALL THEM WHAT THEY ARE.......THEY ARE DOMESTIC TERRORISTS!!!
Leni
They always say that. My community cancelled our annual 4th of July fireworks after a gang of black "teens" went on a rampage and assaulted a number of (coincidentally, I'm sure) white people watching the fireworks with their families.
The local Democrats did their best to cover it up, but when the cancelled the fireworks it pissed a lot of people off, and people demanded answers.
The political pimps did their best to minimize it, telling people that the assailants "were not local", since some of them came from the town next door.
And that was the end of it. That was 3 years ago, and it's probably going to be permanent.
