However, after the looters left and there was little to no one on the streets....THAT”S when then the police came around trying to act all tough. Where were they when the looters were going nuts?
There’s a very good reason for the cops running from the rioters.
Had they stood their ground and shot them, the rioting would have gotten worse, and the individual cops involved very likely would be up on charges for excessive force, murder, etc. If acquitted in state court, they would be prosecuted in federal court for civil rights violations.
If I’m armed, but not allowed to shoot even to protect myself, I’d run away too.
