If a Secret Service agent were to tell you that candidate Obama or President George W. Bush have attended events in a post-9/11 era in which magnetometer screening was waived because of overflow crowds, would this shock you?
What if said agent were to note that when Vice President Biden threw out a first pitch at the Baltimore Orioles season opener in April of 2009 before 48,607 fans, literally none of them had been screened with magnetometers, while Biden himself was not wearing a bulletproof vest?
Author Ronald Kessler alleges these stories and many more in his new book, The First Family Detail: Secret Service Agents Reveal the Hidden Lives of the Presidents allegations which if true will leave readers to marvel at how our nations most senior political leaders have remained safe to date.
...To let people into events without magnetometer screening, to scrimp on magnetometers to the point where Mitt Romney felt forced to deliver campaign speeches to unscreened crowds in [overflow] parking lots, to bow to Joe Bidens wishes to be without the nuclear football or adequate protection in Delaware, to divert agents from protecting the president [President Obama specifically] when he takes off in Marine One from the White House so they can protect the Secret Service directors assistant, to allow Bradley Coopers vehicle into a secure restricted area without screening before Obama was to give a speech, and to disregard firearms requalification are each so egregious that few past government scandals are comparable because so much is at stake.

Heh.
Because who gives a crap? Biden could disappear tomorrow and who would know?
The fish rots from the head down. Hoe can professionalism be maintained when you have to protect genuine blithering idiots like Biden and anti-American golfers like King Putt?
Good news for a change. This current group doesn’t deserve it.
The Secret Service is no longer Ubama’s primary security detail. There is a second ring of formidable security surrounding him, paid for by entities unknown (Soros? Saudi Arabia?).
Probably will get flamed here but I believe the Secret Service (and other agencies) go way overboard with their protection. In DC, they frequently tow legally parked cars when a protectee goes somewhere unannounced just in case. They tow them but not to a know location, they just dump them somewhere and then the owners have to go find them.
I think it is kind of like the secrecy of government, so much secrecy that we can’t keep it all secret. So much security, we can’t keep up and the basics get skipped.
I heartily encourage the Secret Service to go on strike until they are promised the respect they deserve.
Given the slime that has been elected to office, why waste the money protecting them?
After all, they don’t want us to have guns, so just let the slime risk being plugged...it’ll raise the national IQ anyway.
Well I hope there is consensus on this matter.
And that consensus is that we don’t want to see our leaders in danger.
I want the Secret Service doing their jobs.
If the SS turns on him maybe the country has a chance to survive.
Our “leaders” aren’t Royalty, and we could pick better leaders out of a large crowd, at random.
Biden only wears his vest when he goes swimming.
They go all over the country, campaigning to get into the White House. Why don’t they just STAY in the WH, and do their job there?!
And the problem with this is?
Our leaders need to make fewer enemies. The more power you have, the more enemies you have. If they would mind their own business fewer people would be angry with them.
They go all over the country, campaigning to get into the White House. Why don’t they just STAY in the WH, and do their job there?!
Harry Truman rode the subway to work. No problem.
Such a shame.
Could it be that this is deliberate? Perhaps the Secret Service is surreptitiously keeping their oath by just “accidentally” letting something happen to their charge.
