Also could you provide the link? Thanks
Rove but he was young pup then ..probably Bob Dole.
the CIA
His biggest donor was the father of John Hinckley.
I remember fighting with a Navy Officer when I was working with the Corp of Engineers about Bush vs Reagan. I was a Reagan supporter.

“Dude. That was, like, 35 years ago.”

Mark Levin...... DID NOT! He Supported Ronald Reagan!
He supported Reagan in 1976 as well!
For starters:
Howard Baker .. (Withdrew Mar 6, 1980).. (Endorsed Ronald Reagan)
Phil Crane (Withdrew Apr 17, 1980) .. (Endorsed Ronald Reagan)
John Connally (Withdrew Mar 10, 1980) .. (Endorsed Ronald Reagan)
Bob Dole (Withdrew Mar 16, 1980) .. (Endorsed Ronald Reagan)
Larry Pressler (Withdrew Jan 9, 1980) .. (Endorsed Ronald Reagan)

What difference does it make. Nearly all of Reagan’s people have been pundits on CNN and they are all RINOs.
Karl Rove, George Will for starters.
Remember, a lot of good conservatives didn’t trust Reagan. He was always much more “establishment” than we remember. They felt betrayed when he picked Scranton for VP in ‘76. And, he did some things in California that we’d rather not remember. “The New Right” were never in awe (Howard Phillips endorsed Connolly) and I remember Buckley opposed Reagan on the Panama Canal. I believe the hard core conservative in the primaries was Phil Crane. Reagan was the “safe” conservative.
Not endorsing Reagan in 1980 wasn’t as “RINOish” as it may seem today.
Great topic. Will be watching with interest.
That 1980 convention had a lot going on behind the scenes...Cheney was a Ford man.
