Ground beef is like $5 to$6 dollars an Lb here in Dallas.

we just finished a cross country drive and we listened whenever we could to the farm channels....big worry in Iowa is getting the railroad cars to carry their corn/wheat because apparently the natural gas industry is grabbing up a lot of the rail cars....

I could live without steak, but coffee... Fortunately this article blames future global warming for prospective increases in the price of coffee, so I’m not too worried.

Seriously I was just telling brother the other day that the farm report really dials you into the local economy and to wider national matters.

Hint

Take them Avocados, split em and stuff them witha seafood salad.
Tuna fish will do but shrimp is better.
Squeeze of lemon or lime.

Great summer lunch.

.
This is one thing we know for sure that it will not be!

Cooling has become the problem for agriculture, bringing drought and failed crops.

Sadly they are like $2 apiece here.

They was 10 for a $1 when I left Ca.

Learned the seafood stuffed avacado recipe in Toulon France.

Delicious and refreshing

I have a funny story about "chip chop" ham. We have a geriatric cat who is 19. He has been losing weight (always a picky eater) and just would not eat. His health has been slowly deteriorating for the past year. Friends said to try ham.

We stay Kosher, but I went out got a 1/4lb of the local variety Isaly's Chip Ham (he is a cat and not very religious). Wearing food gloves I chopped it up into even smaller pieces.

I put it in bowl for him and he went wild. Ate a surprising amount. Cool I figured.

Finally I had to replace it and I bought another variety of "Chipped Chopped" ham. Just damn. He wouldn't touch it. It had to be the Isaly's. Cats.
