This slogan is a non-starter.

What if you don’t miss Dubya?
To: Reaganite Republican
I don’t miss W. I would rather have him as president than Obama, but I don’t miss him and his Compassionate Conservatism (ie, updated Rockefeller Republicanism).

Now if they sponsored a Miss Wet T-shirt contest, that *might* garner somewhat more interest

At least he was better than Obama.

Hell I miss W because, compared to this decade, his time was a paradise of stability and sanity. The weeks after 9-11 were some of the best moments this nation had in years.
Doesn’t mean I’m going to pull the lever for another Bush.

Sorry, folks. I believe JEB! will be the next president regardless of our antipathy toward him. The fix is in.

The GOPe is totally invested in making sure a true conservative isn't the candidate. Romney's re-emergence is just another example of this effort to thwart someone like Cruz or Walker (I think he is a conservative, at least). But the reality for the GOPe is that their candidates, i.e. the elitist snobs like the Bush family and Romney, aren't electable. They have nothing in common with the average person and have no ability to relate to them. Further, the "moderates" spend money irresponsibly and have no problem with big government, but that will be a non-starter going forward.

The GOPe should do themselves a favor and not be mentioning W. The attention needs to go to Obama.
And what has Jeb really ever done other than having the family name?

Right now, the battle to be President Warren’s token opposition appears to be between Bush and Romney. But I wouldn’t count out a perennial doormat like McCain, or a wanna-be doormat like Christie. Should both Bush and Romney falter, the GOP will take another look at these willing and eager losers.
The only thing that is certain is that any competent conservative challenger will face a united front, comprised of Democrats, Republicans, and the media (not to mention certain branches of our government), and will be squashed by this meat grinder at any any cost.
All the while, a certain and unfortunately large number of otherwise conservative voters and pundits will believe that supporting the GOP’s token loser is the best available strategy.
Right now, there are only long-shot, and no-shot, strategies. The only hope of reversing the leftward lurch in this country is to recognize the difference. There is no path by which a Romney/Bush nomination would reverse or even slow down the takeover of this country by the radical and malevolent left. It has zero chance of moving the country one inch back towards what it was for the first 200 years.
