The scare came after she posted a photo of herself after her first week in the army.The IDF has banned hitchhiking by soldiers since 1993 when Canadian immigrant Yehoshua Friedberg was murdered by 'Palestinians' who picked him up hitchhiking at the exit from Jerusalem and dumped his body along the side of the Jerusalem - Tel Aviv highway between Telz Stone and Shoresh.Her photo was shared by an Arab youth on Facebook, who tagged her and included the threat in an Arabic caption, “the next kidnapping target.”
She initially ignored the share until she arrived home for the weekend and told her family what had happened.
“…they said ‘it’s serious,’ and that I’d have to report the incident immediately,” she said. “I immediately understood that I could be abducted, and didn’t want to take any chances.”
The IDF is taking the threat seriously, has opened an investigation and is trying to track down the poster, according to Channel Two News. Police warned her to be very alert for any unusual activities.
“I, like all the women (in the IDF), am supplied with tear gas, and was taught self-defense, since we’re located close to Arab areas,” she said.
“Our officers warned us not to hitch hike, and, after the kidnapping of the teens, I understand not to dismiss the danger,” she said, adding that, “truthfully, I’m pretty fearful from all of these threats.
“The post isn’t funny, and I hope they catch the guy,” she said.

In Israel both male and female youth serve in military, it is required.
I hope she uses it to perform what liberals call "gender reassignment surgery" on any thug who tries to kidnap her. A 7.62 m round to the tiny Arab anatomy of a terrorist sounds like a good start - all they'll be able to do with their 72 virgins is smile wistfully (which is probably all a terrorist can do in real life).

To be precise, it’s probably not even an assault rifle either, since it doesn’t seem to have a bayonet lug or a grenade launcher. Still, it’s nice to see her armed, as it would be nice to see all decent people armed worldwide. In a world that includes so much evil, gun control (steady position, breath control, trigger control, and sight picture) is the key to peace.
She hasn’t learned much about handling a weapon in the Army yet.....her finger is on the trigger - and that’s a well-known “no-no” with all who know how to safely and professionally handle weapons.....
Something you rarely see in IDF forces carrying their weapons.......

It does have a bayonet lug on her M-16, it's just hard to see in the pic. A nice grenade launcher would be either an M-79 40mm launcher or an M-203, which is an over/under M-16/M-79. Man they are fun to shoot :-)
Yes, Arlis, you’re right! The IDF should work MUCH harder to prevent her from killing her team-mate 6 meters in front of her.
I'm usually a stickler for safety issues. I can't imagine how I missed seeing her finger.
