When Walter Cronkite came out against the war in Viet Nam in February of 1968, former President Lyndon Johnson said, “If I’ve lost Cronkite, I’ve lost Middle America.”
And that is exactly what history will say actually happened.
To watch NBC, CBS, and the Washington Post accurately (if reluctantly) report on the trade of five members of the Taliban’s starting line-up, for a soldier that the preponderance of the evidence says is a deserter, should be on that same level for Barack Obama.
Only it is moderate America that Obama has lost. You know, the people who kept him and morons like Harry Reid in office. This one has them all running for the exits.
The story of Bowe Bergdahl is a tragedy on a lot of levels.
First of all, to hear his fellow soldiers, he is not, as advertised, an American hero.
One of his Afghanistan comrades said that at best, he is a deserter; and at worst, he is a traitor.
To hear Barack Obama and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Martin Dempsey, whatever else Bergdahl is, he was a captured American soldier–and we take care of our own. And that should certainly be true in spite of the spin doctoring that is being done to rehabilitate this guy in the eyes of the American public.
But, on yet a third level, we traded five players from the Taliban’s first string for this guy. The political cynics among us—me included—couldn’t help but note that the exchange was timed in such a manner as to knock the VA scandal off the front pages. Of course, replacing a scandal with a scandal probably wasn’t the original intent.
And, finally, in many ways, we created the Taliban. A helpful lesson in history would be the largely true movie “Charlie Wilson’s War.”
While the United States has always said that it doesn’t negotiate with terrorists, the fact is that these terrorists were originally armed with Russian-made arms our CIA acquired for them, when they were fighting a Soviet invasion that started in 1979–which was ultimately repelled.
As the movie notes (you can get it on iTunes)—quite correctly—in the end, the United States left Afghanistan; and the mujahedeen we were equipping morphed into the Taliban, which hosted Osama Bin Laden’s invention—al Qaeda.
While neither Obama nor his minions are responsible for that history, the fact is that they totally miscalculated the impact of swapping five people who were instrumental in 9-11 for an Army PFC (he was promoted to Sergeant in captivity) who deserted his post–and whose story was questionable at best.
Obama has won his last election.
His approval ratings are lower than 50%, and he is mired in scandal after scandal and shows little concern because he has little concern.
But now that he has finally done something that has lost him the media which made him a Teflon President, he’d better hope there are no similar scandals in the wings.
Given the pomposity and general lack of competence of his administration (and him, for that matter), it could be a long two and a half years.
Don’t worry Bergdahl is being reeducated , but if he’s crazy ,well should be fun
Bergdahl is old news right now and nobody will care when Iraq falls.

Obama will end this by discharging Bergdahl after explaining that he suffers from PTSD and mental problems.
If no one brings charges, and Obama will see to that, then Bergdahl walks.

The beginning of the end has been said about every stupid thing Obama$$ has managed to do, yet he is still in office. This is just another screw up that he will survive.
You are right, if you mean the odd fact that the picture shows a black/female military, when the actually military is majority white. I think the only military that seem to like and respect Obama are non-white. Compare the reactions in this photo to the lukewarm welcome Obama normally gets around the men in uniform.

The Lawless do not follow the law. They think they are above it.
Fact: you cannot enforce the law upon the lawless except by force or the threat of force.
The American people have no such power they are currently willing to use to bring law to the lawless. Rather, that power is being distributed among Obama's Civilian Security force and every Alphabet agency in the government to be used against them if they dare attempt to enforce the law against the lawless.
It looks like they’re in the Pentagon, which partially explains it.
Bergdahl is a side-issue. Disgusting ... but a side issue. Obama negotiated with terrorists and released the five most dangerous prisoners we had. I thought the U.S. did not negotiate with terrorists. That is the story.

Actually, Cronkite LIED .. he said we lost the TET Offensive .. when actually, we had won it. The problem came about because the General leading the enemy believed they had lost .. but when he heard about Cronkite’s message .. he REGROUPED HIS FORCES AND CONTINUED THE FIGHT.
WE LOST MORE THAN 50,000 SOLDIERS BECAUSE OF CRONKITE’S LIE.
FOX advertised it was going to have a special program about Cronkite .. and I was furious. I wrote to FOX and explained what I outlined above - Cronkite LIED. I asked FOX how they could honor a man whose lie caused the death of over 50,000 of our best and brightest. FOX never ran the program. Sometimes, just changing the channel (when you don’t like the programming) is not enough.
And .. I too noticed the make-up in the photo .. but ever since Obama has been in the WH .. this type of photo is always staged - even in his speeches.

For sure. All of these scandals and tragedies are being reported in an Obama-neutral manner. The MSM will continue to censor the news in Obama's favor.
I suppose you expect all those men and women, regardless of color, to flip him off? Yea, you and me might get away with it, subject to an IRS audit which they won’t lose like e-mails, but they don’t have much of a choice.
