t seems all the bookmakers sending the Obamas to New York City or back to Chicago after the end of the Presidents second term are wrong by a few thousand miles.
A source close to Wall St. Cheat Sheet has confirmed that the Obama family have purchased property in the city of Asheville in North Carolina as a post-Presidency residence. A call to get an official confirmation from the White House wasnt immediately returned.
The President discussed retirement there last year during his trip to North Carolina during a speech in Asheville. Love coming to Asheville, said Obama. Michelle and I always talk about how after this whole presidency thing, were looking for a little spot to here an audience member said, Come on down Come on down? Play a little golf, do a little hiking, fishing, barbecue, said Obama. Theres two things that keep bringing me back here. Number one is I really like the people. And number two is 12 Bones, which I will be stopping on the way back to the airport. On the one hand, a smaller city like Asheville doesnt offer the same enormous population to lose oneself in as does New York or Chicago. On the other, the president and his wife clearly like the area.
The president first visited the Asheville area during the campaign, and he liked it so much that he vowed to take his family there. The president and first lady are planning to spend a quiet weekend enjoying some of the many things this beautiful part of the country has to offer, reported the White House. This, of course, led to a great deal of vacation like the president slogans from the citys tourism industry.

Obama covets North Carolina like a precious pearl, but HE can’t have it, nor will he understand us (or change us)!!~
In other words, thanks to the multi-million dollar advance payments for Baraq’s and Michelle’s post-WH memoirs, it looks as if the O-duo will have enough dough to buy Ashville’s Biltmore, the USA’s biggest private home. After all, what lesser abode would be fit for a royal couple? Ain’t capitalism great!
(Putative congrats also to Bill Ayers, who undoubtedly will get a handsome cut of the payments, for his ghosting of both memoirs!)
I tend to think the Obamas would want to have access to the elites in Washington. I have a hard time believing they’d want a home in fly-over country.
Until I see this on a respected network, I will put this in the questionable category.
“Exiled President” has a nice ring to it.
From WND, Ayers didn’t get a dime from the sale and he’s not too happy about that, because he can’t complain about it without exposing Obama for whom he is.
No doubt.
The story has been floating around for over a year.
A jet Helicopter will handle that obstacle. Where do we sign the check?
I’m sure for some twisted reason the opposite will happen, but my expectations would be that property values in and around Asheville would plummet.
Just saying I would not want to live anywhere near a criminal, narcissistic psychopath.
Not far from the Billy Graham Training Center. Lovely area.

GOD, how disgusting....There goes the neighborhood !!
I knew Ashville from my early days. My mothers sister and family lived on Pine Tree Circle, later in Biltmore Forest.
We always loved our trips from Memphis to Ashville and the Smokies.
I agree. I didn’t see anything on the Asheville Citizen-Times page. Of course, they are always the last to know anything going on.
Silly us. We missed it.
There go the property values
No - who won?
I’m betting that this will just be a place to visit and they will live in Hawaii.
If it’s even true. I personally don’t think he will move from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. any time soon.
