Tea Party Flag = Don’t Tread on Me flag...

Lowey? there were a host of local tea partiers, including myself, who sat down with a local rat assemblyman last summer to have a chat- it was polite but we got right to the point...prior to that he asked us to fill out address cards...he’s a huge lowey supporter and i let my feelings be known about her hypocrisy...

I’ve seen Lowey around town and have challenged her and have done much the same on her facebook page; granted I don’t call her names rather point out her hypocrisy as I’ve done in person...there’s no doubt her staff have taken notice of this on her page...

My idea is for the love of God please ignore people who say you are supposed to start sending around subpoenas. Getting yourself flagged a nut-job will end up just getting you tossed from IRS examination division over to the loving care of your local US Attorney/FBI tax evasion team.

IRS examination division happily dismisses cases when they see docs, and for 99% of the balance gives you a payment plan on back taxes with interest and perhaps a small penalty.

The tax evasion team, not so much. They will go over your life with a fine-tooth comb. They are motivated to get indictments and they usually do. They are “happy” to see you avoid prison by pleading to a first-timer felony, getting three years of probation, a six figure legal bill and a massive fine, and lifelong unemployability.

um... show them the receipts from you paying your taxes ( you can even get them printed out again down at the tax office ) then simply make copies of your kids birth certificates (or you can order new copies from the state) and your done.

I am not sure what the big deal here is.

Obama’s legacy, turning the IRS into a politically motivated tool to punish the opposition. I never would have believed it, but it’s true.

We also were audited for the first time. We give to our church (evangelical) and other Christian organizations which may have been on one of those watch phrases. My husband is meticulous on making sure everything is perfect. He had someone go over our taxes at work and found out he left out something he could have written off but didn’t. We should have paid $500 less than we did. Just hope they don’t fine us for a mistake in our favor.

When you wrote the checks, did you use abbreviations, improper capitalization and multiple punctuation?

Why are you asking? What is your intimation?

Why are you asking?

Why are you asking me why I am asking?

The poster has already clarified.. he didn't know the name of the Gadsden flag.

What is your intimation?

I was "intimating" that I didn't understand everything he had written.
If you look at the writing, this isn't a very far fetched idea.

I can’t answer that as I’m not the one asking you to do so. Why don’t you ask them.
My guess is you took them as a deduction on the Fed taxes.

i’m annoyed that i have to prove i paid $21+ in real estate/school taxes when they have it on file.
The IRS doesn't have your tax receipts on file. All they know about you is what you claimed on your return - like paying $21K for taxes.
It's like poker, you made a bet and now the IRS is calling you.
Assuming you and you account are on the up and up, you're making a big stink over nothing.
In fact, when you present your proof to the IRS, do it with a smug-@ss look on your face, as in ... eff you, it don't mean nuthin'.

Check with the Governors Office. I believe he said you are not welcome in the state of New York. Come on down south. Plenty of friendly states to choose from.

Because AFAIK, the IRS' computers don't "talk" to local governments' computers and therefore have no way of verifying your claim of payment. If there were a question over, say, whether you had paid your NY *state* income taxes, the IRS wouldn't have an issue because the IRS' computers "talk" to the state computers and they could easily verify it.

"Why are you asking me why I am asking"?

I'm asking because I don't understand why you giving a conservative a hard time over trivialities when there is a bigger issue here.

"The poster has already clarified.. he didn't know the name of the Gadsden flag
Perhaps the time to educate the OP on the name of the Gadsden flag could wait until a less stressful time for the OP? Just sayin. I do know that is misspelled by the way, and if you don't understand the popular usage I can explain it to you via freepmail, where it would be more appropriate.

I was "intimating" that I didn't understand everything he had written.

This is a fellow conservative facing a very stressful time, and it's quite possible that it's the direct result of his being a conservative. Have you ever been audited?Your reaction to what many consider to be a very trying experience is to question his use of common terms, question details as to his confronting Lowey, even to question his spelling, grammar, and punctuation. That is a very strange behavior to subject a conservative too, even ignoring that it's an IRS issue and ignoring all of the obvious malfeasance of the IRS lately.

Unless of course entirety of your motive on this post to point out trivial mistakes of the OP in some sort of perversely self serving passive-aggressive hostility? Maybe the OP kicked your dog or something and you are trying to get back at them?
