That may be the way you see it, but the truth is that not once did anyone in his administration fight back against the lies and exaggerations that were being told. They just let the lies lay there without being refuted. That is what led to the filthy democrat ascendancy.
There is also the fact that Bush kept Chaney on as VP knowing that he wouldn't run for president when his term was up and would leave no heir apparent and would leave the race wide open.

Most people here have come to accept the self-evident facts. Bush and Hastert were supporters of big government, they governed poorly and things got bad. When things are bad when Republicans are in charge they pay the price at the polls, as they did in 2006 and 2008.
This of course counter-productive as democrats always do even worse, but voters aren’t very bright, when things are bad they vote for the other party. Of course Pelosi and Reid share blame for everything that happened from 2007-2008 but again voters are not too bright, they view the President as “in charge” (many failed to notice the rats took Congress) and Bush didn’t do many things right in his last 2 years.
Bush was/is a big government RINO just like his pappy, and is directly responsible for Pelosi/Reid and Obama coming to power. Contrast Reagan, Bush Sr. was elected to his third term because he did a good job.
