That’s funny because PA speech is really poor and gives ebonics a run for its money. Best-kept secret in America.
This is a low-volume list so dont worry!
(Please Freep-mail me if youd like to be on or off the list.)
Odd how the Pennsylvania Dutch never sued...to insist that their peculiar form of english was actually part of the dutch language spoken in their “native” Holland.
I much prefer Amos N Andy-Bonix over EBONIX....
If one of you guys find out the dogs condition, ping me if ya can.
Good. Unless it’s done to save life or limb, anyone who shoots a dog deserves whatever happens to them.
It’s not Dutch. It’s German. We Germans never get any credit.
And I’m not talking about Amish specifically, who have an excuse if they speak German. I’m talking about the white people in PA. ;-) (No, I’m really not kidding!) “Ivorics”, perhaps?
I live in LA so this story has been all over the news, all we know right now is that he is in surgery..please God let him survive.
Ivoryonix? after much reflection maybe not
Wow! I thought maybe Officer/Judge Barky got killed!
German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County has a blood donor dog at the hospital where Bruno is being treated at. And we have two other dogs on standby just in case more blood is needed.
What is with these cops shooting people who shoot dogs?
Well here’s the problem - if a police dog frightens you, and you shoot the dog, the cop will use that act as justification to shoot you, and he will not be charged with a crime. In addition, the law treats your shooting of the police dog as equal to the murder of a human police officer.
But if a cop is frightened by your dog and he shoots it, and then you use that act to shoot the officer, you will be charged with murder. In addition, the shooting of your dog by the officer will be treated as utterly irrelevant by the law, and comprising no loss whatsoever.
The probem here is the extremity of the difference the law takes towards the two scenarios, because it is literally 180 degrees. And it plainly says that cops and police dogs are human beings, and non-cops and non-police dogs are not human beings, and not even dogs.
Historically speaking, the government taking the position that the population can be killed on sight does not wrk out well - especially when government officials actually go around killing people on sight.
And when the government takes the further position that harm to a government animal is a more serious crime than the cold-blooded murder of a citizen, it creates a situation that cannot end well for anyone.
None of this is hypothetical. It’s becoming extremely to the citizens of this country that all cops only wear one badge number: 007.
We can shoot your dog, but dont think you can get away with shooting ours!
True, but Im having a hard time getting terribly upset about the perp.
God Bless all the pooches who helped out Bruno..he is out of surgery, Anaheim PD released these photos of him after surgery

Thank you Yorba Linda Regional Animal Hospital!!
What kind of a cop would send a dog (and a presumed pet) after someone who is holding a gun???
Thanks guys...Very glad to hear that...Just heard it on KFI too...I have a big soft spot for German Shepherds...Love all dogs but raised GS dogs all my life....They're truly a wonderful best friend and never complain...
Police dogs serve a valuable purpose. I’m not arguing that. But they are NOT police officers - yet that is what the law calls them. And a cop WILL shoot you if you try to shoot his police dog and he will NOT be charged with murder for shooting you. But if the same cop shoots YOUR dog and you shoot the cop for it, you WILL be charged with murder.
What I’m saying is that this sh!t is getting crazy. We’re not talking abuot insults, beatings or arrests - we’re talking about cops just flat-out summarily executing people, rather than backing off, getting backup, using time and other police practices. A citizen’s human life has become dogsh!t to cops, while their dogs have become higher than human life - and the law protects this reversal of everything civilization is supposed to stand for.
This is wrong.
