Maybe we can reach a point of reconsideration on Ugandas Anti-Homosexuality Bill, Kerry said during a forum at the State Department.
The Ugandan president committed to meeting with American experts on homosexuality to try to change his mind about the Anti-Homosexuality Act signed into law last month, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday during a forum at the State Department moderated by BuzzFeed.
Museveni claimed to have signed the law, which imposes up to a lifetime prison sentence for homosexuality, after being convinced no one is born gay.
I talked personally to President Museveni just a few weeks ago, and he committed to meet with some of our experts so that we could engage him in a dialogue as to why what he did could not be based on any kind of science or fact, which is what he was alleging, Kerry said. He welcomed that and said that he was happy to receive them and we can engage in that kind of conversation maybe we can reach a point of reconsideration.
Kerry suggested this conversation was an example of the tailored approach the State Department is now developing to respond to anti-LGBT laws currently in place in around 80 countries worldwide. Shortly before his remarks, the Congressional Black Caucus sent a letter to Kerry urging it to examine relations with all countries with anti-LGBT laws, not just Uganda.

If homosexuals are born that way, then so are anti-homosexuals. They should quit trying to convert us.
I agree with you. We need a plan to retake the media.
Why does Kerry want to have sex with the Ugandan President?
“If homosexuals are born that way, then so are anti-homosexuals. They should quit trying to convert us.”
Sounds like excellent advise that will drive libs even more insane.
With everything going on in the world today do we NEED to focus on whether other countries allow gays to be ‘out’ or whether homosexuality is legal there? I think not.
I think dumbo needs to focus on Russia and other pressing matters instead of this. I thought Kerry was supposed to be the Secretary of State, not the Secretary of Sex?
Comments from the Libertarians? How will being soft on moral issues stop illegitimate crap like this?
Oh, my God. How neo-colonialist of him. I would kick the damn scientist in the shins and knock their blocks off and send them bloody packing.
Exactly
Kerry is not a ‘fine’ SofS and he is just carrying the message of bisexual Obama. The Ugandan President is being very accommodating because he wants to be friends with a Kenyan. There are many photos showing the feminine traits of Obama. However, even Obama’s full sexual orientation should not be taken as meaning their exists a motherly feeling for the USA. Obama would have the USA mirror Sodom and/or Gomorrah.
I’m not big on elitist, condescending, leftist coming to Colorado to tell me what my laws should be and what rights I need to give up. Imagine how the president of Uganda must feel.
Meanwhile in Africa, Christians are being slaughtered by Islamofascists, and that reality is ignored.

Somalian Islamists Publicly Execute Christian Women
INN ^ | 3/18/2014, 11:14 AM | Ari Soffer
Two Christian women were publicly beheaded by Islamist terrorists in southeastern Somalia, as part of a campaign to wipe out any Christian presence in the east African country.
The Morning Star reported Friday that the two womenidentified as mother-of-two Sadia Ali Omar, 41, and her 35-year-old cousin Osman Mohamoud Mogewere executed by the Al Qaeda-aligned Al Shabaab militia in the port town of Barawa in the Lower Shebelle Region after their Christian identities were discovered.
Villagers were reportedly forced to witness the murder, including Omars eight and 15-year-old daughters. Locals described the harrowing scenes as the younger daughter screamed in vain for someone to save her mother from the brutal killing.
Sarcasm existed in the written form thousands of years before the tag ever crossed anyone’s mind.
I had to check to see if it was satire. The crap going on in this country today is mind boggling.
Wouldn’t it be ironic if the Ugandan President treated Kerry to a little “bulunga?”
It’s a “settled law”.
Well this certainly sounds like exactly the best top priority issue for the United States of America’s Secretary of State to devote his time and attention to.
Nice country you got here squire. Hate to things go Genghis Khan on ya.
Should we tell another nation what they should do within their borders? I think we should give them the right to ban homosexuality. It is NONE of our BUSINESS what they want as laws.
