According to the Times of Israel, Israel's Channel 2 has revealed that Israeli air defenses have been boosted, and approaching civilian aircraft will be asked to identify themselves far earlier. Though the flight was presumed at first to have crashed, whole or in pieces, into the ocean, passive satellite transmissions from the aircraft suggest that it made a deliberate course change and may have headed north into central Asia. Pakistan has already said that the flight never registered on its radar, but at least one expert has suggested the flight could have landed in Bangladesh, whose air defenses presumably would be weaker.

Dont think the plane has the nearly fuel range to reach the US non stop. Makes for a difficult plan.
Target would likely have to be in Europe or Israel. With an EMP payload they just need to be close. Dont have to impact or land. Need to watch for “second move” staging if anything other than a desperate attack.
India would be a more likely target than Israel.

Tehran is 6,120 statute miles from NYC. The max range of a 777-200ER is 7,725 nautical miles (8,890 statute miles).

I tend to agree with you. And as of now is a great opportunity for the "enemy" to just increase "chatter" (free) whilst we or other nations spend millions, possibly billions on trying to figure all this out. Let's not forget, 'Laden and cronies saw all of us tax payers as part of the war, willing or not. Making us spend our treasury needlessly is still a win for them.
Our military seems to be too busy mustering out prospective troops who dare post Bible verses on their dorm whiteboards and holding sold-out ‘drag queen’ nights at the O-club to bother worrying about some missing plane somewhere.

About 4 years ago Pakistan radically changed the way it stores it’s nukes —remember when the US asked permission to safeguard their nuclear weapons in the event their gummint was overthrown by fundamentalists?
The Pakistanis refused and saw the US request as an attempt to simply DO AWAY with their nuclear deterrent.
They were so scared of US intentions that they were shuttling nukes around Pakistan with very, very little security —the stories were hair-raising.
IS IT POSSIBLE ONE OF THESE GOT AWAY FROM THEM...?
My belief is that now that this aircraft is loose, the above question must be plumbed more carefully.

Not by a terrorist. Unless they can fight Earth’s gravity and get something approx 300 miles up and manage to drift it over one of the poles over the U.S. AND time it to go off just right. Low level (35000 feet) will just be a whole lot of boom effecting a small area.
Israel has better weapons than we do in the USA. I am confident the are able to watch their air space.
I’m sure it’s not that difficult to get Jet-A on the black market.
Obama will not defend Israel so they have a clear shot.
