Maybe he could be in a cabinet position in charge of dismantling Obamacare lol
That is disturbing, but I’d still love for him to be my senator.
Until Obama hit the proverbial fan, American Presidents used to campaign and say, “This is what I believe, but if am elected, I will follow the will of the people.” Most other presidents knew it was not their job to dictate policy, but to implement it as only one of the three branches of government. If Carson or someone like him were to run, and say that he would respect the will of the people, even with the second ammendment, this may allow voters like Dana to reconsider him.
I agree. I like Carson but the gun control issue is problematic. I still think he’s heads and tails above the so called establishment front runners Bush and Christie. I prefer Cruz and Paul to any of the others. I want someone that knows how to sell conservatism and liberty not some “manager” that wants to merely slow down the advance of the left. We need someone who will present a stark appealing contrast to the leftist/corporatist power structure. Reagan did that to a large extent. Right now the GOP counts on being the bland alternative to an out of control progressive agenda which is pathetic given the power of the ideas on which this country was founded. How in the world can we not win arguments against people that want to control every aspect of a person’s life. They want to control how many children you can have, they want to control how much energy you can use, how big your car can be, what kind of food you can eat, how you run your business, how and on what terms you can worship, what kind of speech is acceptable, and on and on. How is it that our so called leadership can not make the case against the control freak left?
Where does Carson stand exactly on questions like taxes, entitlements, defense, foreign affairs, etc., etc.
It’s a wrongheaded idea to think that such restrictions will do any good.
Nobody’s perfect, something will come out every candidate.
You’ll have to vote for an imperfect candidate if you vote.
I’ll worry about all that the night before election day. In the meantime I’ll keep track of my options.
Deal killer for sure.
Dr. Ben simply needs a little education on the subject of guns and the Second Amendment.
His attitude is the type that creates hell holes like Chicago and D.C., where only the criminals are armed.
Well, of course.
We don't need to latch onto every intelligent-sounding conservative who makes the news. Carson isn't a politician. Now, that's good -- very good -- in one respect, but a losing proposition for a presidential candidate.
Dr. Carson advocates intelligent discussions on important issues, discussions between the people and their leaders. Yet because he makes one remark about not wanting some nut case in the Big Apple to be sporting a machine gun he’s suddenly totally disqualified.
I’m 100% 2nd Amendment but remember how they crucified Gov. Perry on his debate performance and that too was a deal-killer. Even though it came out later that he was still on pain killers from his back surgery he was done.
Personally, I think we need to get all sides of the story before we disqualify possible candidates this go-round. Let’s hear the details of how Dr. Carson views this issue. Just because he’d rather the nut case not have a weapon doesn’t mean he’d favor gun control.
We knocked all our guys down last time one by one on some single statement or issue and were left with Romney. Time to really explore our candidates.
Gun rights which differ by zip code.
Apparently Carson may be a brain surgeon, but he is a complete moron when it comes to the 2A.
A deal killer for me. If you are willing to trample on the 2A, it will not be long before you trample on others.
Carson is a very nice man. He lacks national experiece. Let him continue to be a voice for conservatism. Haven’t we had enough of amateurs? We need a strong leader, one who understands our rights, our Constitution and can fight face to face with the PTB. That would be Ted Cruz. This is not a time to play games. We are in deep trouble as a nation and as a people. We need a strong, unapologetic leader.
So if we carry Dr. Carson's "It depends on where you live" argument to it's logical conclusion, does that mean that Rosa Parks should have been more sensitive to the feelings of the white people of Montgomery Alabama and simply taken her seat in the back of the bus? After all, she knew that some black people were prone to behave irresponsibly and that some were even crazy. Whites in Alabama were very sensitive to that sort of thing at the time.
Our second amendment rights are as important as Rosa Parks', or Dr. Carson's, 15th amendment rights. It doesn't make any difference where we live.
Your rights do not depend on your location.
