Authorities are searching for an aggressive mountain lion that killed a German shepherd in a Fontana backyard Wednesday and kept returning to the home despite being shot at by police.
About 3:30 a.m. a resident in the 4100 block of Fox Borough Drive heard his dog crying out and went outside to find a large mountain lion standing over his dead 100-pound German shepherd, the Fontana police said in a statement.

the New York DEC SWEARS there are NO lions in New York!!! and if you shoot one, you can be arrested...
And whats up with officers who can’t shoot straight?
Golly, I can't wait until they find a docile little puddy-tat of a mountain lion. Here kitty kitty!
GSD ping!

Between cats and cops dogs don’t stand much of a chance.
There are plenty of “aggressive” Cougars in Fontana and
Ontario -—— Lisa and Beth to name two “putty-tats”. :>)
Poor dog!
Shoot it Lizbeth! Shoot it! :-)
What a surprise for the dog, to meet such an awesome killer that he didn’t even know was possible.
I used to think about Goldberg (OJ victim) being an athletic young man in a normal sense, and then being surprised by an enraged monster focused on killing, who was one of the world’s greatest, most powerful athletes, it must have been a terrible short lived shock being under his knife, almost like being attacked by an alien.
Poor dog...
This guy’s home sets in a canyon at the edge of some of wildest portions of the San Bernardino Mountains. Small wonder he gets ‘visitors”.
Well now we know who wins mountain lion v. german shepherd.
Here’s a cougar......

I live in Coal Creek Canyon between Boulder and Golden, Colorado. We have had about 8 dogs killed by mountain lions in the last month. I am on the lookout. If I catch it, it will never make the newspapers.
Depends on the circumstances. Likely the German shepherd was ambushed while sleeping.
Yah... As compared to the other kind.

.
That should come as no surprise.
Cats are the fastest and strongest creatures on Earth, pound for pound. A 25 pound cat can give a 75 pound shepherd a real battle for his life. When the cat out-weighs the dog, the dog has no chance at all.
