The Obama administration is working around the clock to come up with ways to punish Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine. But will any of them work?
Behind the scenes, Obama administration officials are preparing a series of possible battle plans for a potential economic assault on Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine, an administration source close to the issue told The Daily Beast. Among the possible targets for these financial attacks: everyone from high-ranking Russian military officials to government leaders to top businessmen to Russian-speaking separatists in Ukraine. It’s all part of the work to prepare an executive order now under consideration at the Obama administration’s highest levels.

We must give peace a chance
What this Obama press release actually confesses is that Obama chose long ago, probably during his “more flexible after the election” commentary, to do nothing. Everyone with half a brain knew what was going to happen. Can a FReeper be found who is surprised at the “unexpected” reaction from Russia?
The “working 24 hours” cliché is as thin as Obama’s redlines. They might as well have said they’re working 48 hours a day. It wouldn’t be any more of a lie.
Except they'll feast on it themselves and feed the beast in China.
If Obama really wanted to make Putin hurt he can have the Poles cut the railroad line between kallinengrad and Russia proper. Kallinengrad is like Crimea an autonomous region that Russia annexed from Germany at the end of World War 2 they basically killed all the Germans and populated it with Russians. well it is roughly the size of a small Baltic state. If the Poles close the only railroad link between kallinengrad and Russia which runs through Poland and the EU mobilize is troops on either side of the border basically isolating Kallinengrad. Putin would get a black eye and the EU could then start negotiating from a position of strength. One other thing call it by its original name Konigsberg I am sure that will piss off putin.
Two things:
1) obama doesn't have the stones, or pull, to make that happen
2) That is a recipe for starting if not just a war in Europe, then one worldwide. No one in their right mind would follow this path.

We don’t have a pipeline from New Orleans to Europe to deliver natural gas. Nor do we have the tanker fleet. In addition, wealthy Jewish businessmen in Russia, Europe and Israel are working together to build pipelines from Russia to Europe to deliver energy. Messing with that deal would hurt Israel. Noble Energy out of Texas is also a big player in developing natural gas fields in the Mediterranean Sea like the Leviathon gas field. The entire situation is complicated. Smash one of your toes with a hammer and your entire foot will experience pain.

Obama is getting ready to put Putin on double secret probation.
If Herr Obozo did the following, he would get Putin’s attention. However, these actions will not happen, as they would make America stronger. These actions would not endanger any American soldiers, sailors, marines or Air Force members.
1. Drill baby/drill for oil/natural gas and allow Fracking to go full bore.
2. Bring in the Keystone pipeline into the states.
Let Putin know that we will lower the price of oil and natural gas by 25% until things calm down.
Of course that will never happen as Herr Obozo and his green anti Americans don’t want an energy independent America.

This nation is unwilling to take even the elemental step of a sovereign nation when it refuses to police its own borders.
A bankrupt nation whose political leaders (of all parties) have abandoned any attempt to stop 10 to 20 million invaders over the last two decades can not be seriously viewed as a power to enforce any action in favor of our allies or against our opponents. Americans have long ago ruined any chance to control their own destiny by way of electing politicians who promise their voters the spoils they can seize from others. At the same time these politicians are refusing to fund a military for defense of the nation.
