"a bill that would tie Oklahoma's Electoral College votes to the national popular vote"

I think that devolves a state back into a territory.

We are finished when the largest urban centers with their huge Dependent Class elect presidents by popular vote.

Why the hell would anyone do something like this?

You effectively nullify your own state’s votes.

Even in the reddest of red states, conservatives must watch closely to our liberties and freedoms.

Even here on Free Republic, the wackadoodles make the occasional appearance as was the case on this thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3123271/posts

Libs in big cities are the ones pushing this kind of idiocy.

Not all Libs are Democrats. There are plenty ‘across the aisle’.

My GOP state Senator voted for this. I just wrote him an email to let him know I will not vote for him in the next GOP primary.

Mike Mazzei in Oklahoma Senate District 25 is not going to win his primary. Maybe I should challenge him if no one else does.

These Republicans are making the same progressive error that was made in passing the 17th Amendment. And if it passes, its consequences will be just as bad.

Their willingness to do this indicates that they do not know enough about US history to serve as representatives in their state, and should be deposed in the next election.

Why did Oklahoma Republicans pursue such a hare-brained idea? What’s going on?
