"Mr. Johnson.....This is CVS. You're Marijuana prescription is ready to be picked up."
No fear of him losing his ‘suppliers’ tho.
Anyone doubt that their reimbursement payments from Obamacare will come ten times quicker than any pharmacy still selling cigarettes?
I wonder if they will lose customers by doing this?
I’ve never like the CVS pharmacy in my neighborhood-—I like Walgreen’s much better.
I’m sure he’s still smoking though.
Former smoker my Aunt Esther!
More feel good baloney from the left.
This will not save a single life.
However, it is certainly CVS’s prerogative to not carry tobacco. But it means nothing.
Let’s see, if their motives are truly as they say, get rid of the candy, soda, ice cream, cold meds (abused) and most of the OTC drugs. And so on ad nauseum.
Well, no more CVS for me. I don’t care about the cigarettes, but if it has Obama’s support, I’m against it.
If it was a business decision and not a political one, I applaud it too. CVS is sacrificing part of their customer base and some revenue to do this on a principle. If, however, they knuckled under to an ObamaCare mandate or the arm-twisting of the feds, I’m not so impressed.
Here’s a question. If CVS had declared that, as a matter of conscience, they decided to not supply birth control medications they deemed were abortifacients, do you think Obama and the media would applaud the decision or demand that CVS comply with the liberal worldview? I think we all know the answer to that one.
CVS is just ahead of the curve on this
Pretty sure bad diet is more damaging to American lives. The collection of ready-to-go candy/snacks/soda is more dangerous than tobacco, as it is okay to administer them to children. Each holiday is littered with sugary poisons which serve to habituate poor nutrition behaviors. If they really cared about the health of their customers, CVS should stop selling candy and snack food and sodas.
re: President Obama, an ex-smoker
Really? I thought he still smoked.
I guess Obama will no longer be buying his cigarettes at CVS.
Since cigarettes need to be locked up, and IDs checked before being sold, it may just be a cost savings.
Most of the price of cigarettes are taxes I am not sure how much profit an outlet makes on a pack of cigarettes but someone may have done the numbers and figures they could use that time and space for something else.
I am old enough to remember cigarette machines were every where.
Why aren’t we all dead yet?
Kiss of death, this Obama pronouncement. CVS will be out of business by the time Emperor Zero leaves the White Hut. If he ever does.
How do we know this? Because the lying little islamist says so?
Because he will always be able to get his butts, even if the little people can’t.
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
I applaud CVS move. I wish every retailer would do the same.
The only reason the tobacco industry still exists is because it is a propped up crony capitalist boondoggle, hiding behind the skirts of Big Government.
