About time.

Preach the Word, not some inanimate object created by man.

How would they know what a Rosary is?

I suppose this thread will draw all the usual Catholic-bashers. Too bad. It would be more useful if they would also pray to God for our country.

And, by the way, the first half of the Hail Mary prayer is taken word-for-word from the Bible, and the rest of it is fully in accord with the Bible.

In any case, I would hope that both Catholics and Protestants would pray for those who need it and for the reform of our country, and lay off all this silly bashing. How about working against our common enemy, instead?

I have prayed the rosary from time to time, and took up saying it daily a month or two ago.

Yeah, because Jesus and his Apostles taught the Rosary all the time.

The rosary is one of the most beautiful medatative prayers. Despite what protestants think of it, it really does focus on Christ.

I used to pray the Rosary while running. Kept track on my fingers. Focusing on the mysteries (joyful, sorrowful, glorious) made me forget about the pain associated with running, while I contemplated what Jesus did. The crowning with thorns was especially meaningful while trying to sprint uphill. My 3-1/2 mile run was over about the same time that I finished the Rosary.

Let us pray that Mr. Melanson engages in more prayer and less bitter-sounding criticism.

“Therefore encourage one another and build up one another.” ...1 Thess. 5:11

“Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds.” ...Hebrews 10:24

The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5)

Last weekend I helped with a Confirmation Retreat here in SoCal for 250 candidates (14-17 years old) and 80 team members (mostly 18-25 years old). Usually we marshal everyone in the school or hall while we wait to load the buses but there was a scheduling conflict and neither was available so we put everyone in the Church. One of the young adult leaders decided to lead them in a Rosary (Glorious Mysteries). It was a minor miracle in that it spontaneously became a reverent, holy event. No chatter, could have heard a pin drop between prayers. Retreat was a great success. Just sayin.....
P.S. There also was 24 hour Adoration for the team members and Confession available for all up at the site, but that’s another story

The Catholic Church has done so many good things around the world in lifting others up and trying to restore them, but why, why, why, do they say these things such as this?:
********************************************
... the people must seek by their insistent entreaties to obtain from the powerful Mother of God...
********************************************
WHY??? ... from the “powerful Mother of God”???
WHY not the Hand of Almighty God Himself in Christ Jesus’ Name like we are instructed to do in His Holy Word???

These are not questions made to bash ... these are questions to ask ourselves why in the Name of the Most High do we call on any other name in prayer???

Where is it written in His Holy Word to do as such???
Is Mary now a goddess???
Is she the “queen of heaven” now???
Who came first??? ... Mary or God???
Would there be no God if there wasn’t a Mary???

Then you want to call it Catholic bashing now???
To ask people why do you do it this way???

But, why, why, why, do we insist on going outside the boundaries that were etched in stone by praying to any other???

Yea ... I’m upset with you peeps who keep teaching these things. It hits me hard in the gut. I can only imagine how the Heavenly Father feels when you sidestep His instructions on how to pray, and then think there is someone else over His Holy Head who can answer your prayers better.

There is only one way to the Heavenly Father and that is through Christ Jesus, and in His Name only.

Any other way is like a thief, and a robber.
Yet I’m considered a “Catholic basher” if I speak up.

Should I let you fall by the wayside???
Or should I reach out and open your eyes to see???
Or are you set in “your ways”, that you refuse to see???

You see ... I’m on the outside looking in.
I have no church, pastor, preacher, or clergyman.
No religion, no building, no group. All I have and need is His Holy Word and His Holy Spirit to lead, guide, touch and move me to where He wants me to be, and not where mankind thinks I should be.

So, to all you peeps who follow this type of practiced prayer in any other name than the “One” that was given, I honestly and really truly do love you, but I’m in such total disagreement with these teachings of prayer to any other but the Most High in Christ Jesus’ Name, as is written in His Holy Word.

P.S.
I know it was a lengthy approach, and I don’t mean to attack you peeps who do this, but I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes and shaking my head and saying ... Why Lord, why ... why can’t they see?
