On Fox & Friends weekend edition, conservative pundit Ann Coulter told co-host Tucker Carlson that her friend's sister had passed away over the weekend after putting off medical attention because she had lost her insurance coverage under Obamacare.
"This does have real world consequences: I got up the other morning and got an email from a friend saying, 'My sister almost died because of Obamacare,'" Coulter said.
Coulter said the friend's sister was kicked off her insurance when Blue Shield pulled out of California, put off going to emergency room despite having a fever because she didn't have insurance, until she went into septic shock on Thursday. Over the weekend, the friend passed away.
"That is completely shocking," Tucker Carlson said.
"But it isn't," Coulter responded. "It's expected. We knew this would happen. It's a horrible story, and people need to know about these stories. I emailed her and asked her if I could tweet this, and she said, 'Julie would be very happy for you to tweet this.'"

BUT what a horrible tragedy for this girl and her family
That a government action directly caused her death
when in doubt go to the ER
and pretend you dont speak English

Everybody should ignore this and focus on the fact that it is somewhat possible an old lady died because paramedics were stuck in traffic on a bridge in New Jersey. MSNBC tells me that is what I should be concerned with.
Note to self: Ann Coulter's real name is Julie.
Note to self: Ann Coulter's real name is Julie.
So will she now quit supporting that doofus Christie???
She almost died in the second paragraph. She did die in the third.
“This is what they want. When enough people die the public will cry out for a solution - any solution!”
I agree and this is why either the Republican party must taken over by Tea Party stalwarts or a Tea Party dominated third party be established in time to offer freedom and liberty, including free markets in the medical/insurance areas, as THE solution. And be prepared to articulate exactly why this is the only way to go.
No, I don't think "any solution" should be in the cards, despite the Liberal/Socialist/Progressive/Communists' readiness for that. Firstly, a solution promoted by the regime should certainly be considered only with a properly jaundiced eye. A Tea Party pol needs to put forth a realistic solution that can sweep the country for its (comparative) attractiveness.
Rs of all stripe need to get on board for a full repeal of Obamacare and ratchet up the rhetoric so as to drown out any Immigration Reform motions.

Remember: They blamed Mitt Romney for killing a woman who had health insurance, and with whom he only the most tangential connection.
They are despicable.
Right now Pelosi is reduced to pleading ignorance and incompetence as an excuse for her role in this debacle.
Yes, it’s absolutely deplorable what Obama and the Dems have done to health care as a result of this legislation. But Obama care didn’t result in Ann’s friend’s sister’s death. No, her death was caused by an infection, and HER choice not to seek medical care because regardless of her insurance situation she didn’t feel like her health and ulltimately her life was worth her spending her money unless some insurer was going to pay for it!
I will wager she pays for a car payment, cell phone, shelter, clothing and other necessities of life without expecting some other entity to pay for those. Yet, when it comes to our health we have been conditioned to demand that someone else bears the financial responsibility.
She made a bad choice.... she died as a result.
Obamacare’s law taking away her coverage was but one of the determining factors — her choice was the main factor, as no ER or hospital would refuse treatment without immediate payment. That is a myth propagated by those who want a socialist society and one-payor health care mis-managed by Uncle Sam , and the benevolent Democrats !!!
Thanks...obviously I missed it
This is a sad story, indeed. But, I can’t imagine why a person would not got to an ER, insurance or not. It’s done every minute of every day.
Yes, you end up like the UK, where patients are drinking water out of the planters because a nurse will not give them water. (A few years ago, the EU put out a pronouncement that stated that "water is not a hydrating agent". So, now the socialist medical systems have an excuse to abuse their patients.) I think the cut off age for any kind of medical surgery that could prolong your life, is around 70 years old. This is where we are headed.
Note to Danny: Ann Coulter’s friend’s sister’s real name is Julie, as the context of the sentence (Julie would be very happy for YOU to...) would suggest.
Ah, thanks. I read it wrong.
We[those that knew Obama and what he was about] tried to tell people what would happen under obamacare and were vilified, ridiculed, mocked, and cursed for our troubles. Now they are finding out for themselves. And if you think that it is bad now, wait until 2018 when it is fully implemented.
What probably made the dead woman hesitate about going to the emergency room is the same thing that would make me hesitate: I know it would several thousand dollars, and in this economy I don’t have several thousand dollars, nor anywhere to get it. You never think you might really die, and you think you’re going to get into what could be real financial trouble over something that isn’t that big a deal.
You, sir, could use a little work on developing a bit of compassion. Sometimes it’s not the case that people are blowing large sums for a car and cell phone. Sometimes people really don’t have money. If they’re inner city residents they know the system and have Medicaid, but millions of middle class Americans don’t qualify. Frankly, I’m surprised to read a Freeper blaming a woman for her own death when we can so clearly see that the devastation caused by Obama was the real problem.
I didn’t blame her per se’ but rather the collective thought that we don’t need “health care” unless someone else is going to pay for it. Yet, we don’t expect our car insurance to pay for our gas and oil changes.
No one dies from lack of insurance... Hospitals HAVE to by law provide treatment to all who arrive at the ER without concern for payment. Every hospital will work with the patient, usually at NO Interest to accept payment plans. For instance, when my wife had surgery in 1958, all without insurance, her father paid a monthly payment to the hospital for 20+ years without any interest until the amount was satisfied, with no concern for the inflation effect of those later dollars reduced value.
It’s all about what is important to you.... she simply gambled that her symptoms were not worth the expense and it cost her her life.
Would she have sought care without Obama care legislation, perhaps, but perhaps not as she likely had a deductible pre-Obama and that also may have kept her from seeking care. It’s ultimately personal choice - at least until the ultimate governmental take over of health care occurs which will be sooner rather than later.
