This year President Barack Obama and his party will begin their campaign against “the rich” while emphasizing the “gap” in wages between those on top and those on the bottom. Their solution will be to increase the minimum wage, raise taxes on “the rich” and increase government spending.
They will exploit ignorance and envy to maintain power. Their solution will make the gap larger and create an endless recession. Unless reversed, the result is likely to be a financial collapse, wiping out savings, retirement accounts and putting almost everyone in the country into the category we now call the "working poor."
At every point of failure, they will blame various enemies: the other political party, the rich, business “elites” and conservatives will be favorite targets.
You can’t deny these effects by saying that opposition to these policies is simply politics, or that conservatives are making these warnings to get a reaction or to stir the pot.
Sorry. The current path of the federal government and the Obama administration will impoverish the nation unless it is reversed.
Two examples:
In 1969, there were 51 full-time workers for everyone receiving disability from the federal government. Currently, there are only 13 workers.
We now have more people receiving federal disability than there are citizens of Greece.
There are 48 million people currently receiving food stamps; that is a 70 percent increase since Obama took office. There are only three full-time workers for each person getting this aid. We could give food stamps to every living soul in Central America and still have 8 percent left over. Or we could feed everyone in Canada and still have enough to feed half of the total population of North Korea.
Progressives are flat-out irked that anything economic should interfere with their communal dream, but reality is not optional. The taxpayers have been extraordinarily generous, but irrespective of their goodness this cannot continue.
Suppose we took the nation and split it into two countries, with an equal distribution of wealth between the two. One would be liberal and continue current policies. The progressives could double down on all their dreams.
New York’s Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other progressives could get their wish. There would be no place for conservatives, not only in New York but in the entire new country. So much for crossing the aisle, tolerance and diversity.
The conservative country would be run by a small constitutional federal system. The government would have the authority to protect and defend its citizens and administer the “rule of law.” There would be a limited number of felonies and of regulations. The law would be administered equally, whether you were the president or a homeless person.
At the beginning, every American could choose which country he or she wanted to live in.
Within 30 years, the liberal nation would be a basket case, and it would have to build a fence. Not to keep people out but to keep people in. The progressive country would blame its failures on others, and would perhaps even threaten war.
The conservative country would be wealthier, it would have fewer poor people and the poor people that did exist would be much richer than the poor in the other country.
Almost all wealth creation, advances in science and innovations in business would be taking place in the conservative country. Even the ecology would be more pristine in the conservative half.
How sure am I of this? I have no doubt. None whatsoever.
This has already been done. It was tried in perhaps the largest human experiment in history, and the Soviet Union collapsed with a price in human misery that was staggering. It was done in Germany and Korea. It was tried in China and Taiwan. China is emerging now because of increased freedom, not the other way around.
Our country is being driven by self-serving people into a future nightmare that need not occur.

Sounds like the old iron curtain. It was a great example to what happens when the government becomes the arbitrator of all things including the economy.
Is leading? They were "leading" us to disaster 20 years ago. The disaster is unfolding right before our very eyes, and getting worse every day.

Obama is a disaster, but our government has been leading us in this direction for years. My guess is, for at least 100 years. Obama just raised the bar and has accelerated the program to disaster.
The entitlement army is in control, at least in national elections. Nov 2012 proved that.
The only question now is how long will the markets continue to accept the charade of 40% fake money to pay the entitlements.
Glenn Beck talked about this recently. Just look at North Korea and South Korea.

I agree. We are in the disaster now. We are in the police state now. We are in the economic collaspe now. Pepare for a very hard landing.
This started w president Wilson backing the 16th and 17th Amendments.
The "rich" will exclude the millionaire and billionaire Banksters and crony corporatists that fund the Republicrat/Dumbocan Party and are exempt from the taxes and regulations they push for. The "rich" will be Middle-class folks not on welfare and not to the left of Mao.

It is obvious to us, but unfortunately, there are still many, many foolish people who are way behind the learning curve on things. This is why this type of article is necessary.

The problem with that is the people that NEED to realize, including us in some cases, is that we have been fooled, recognize it, get over it, then make the proper adjustments the next time those things called...What do they call them, yeah polling locations open...
If people want to remain ignorant to their social and political surroundings and not make decisions on their own, susceptible to the whims and agendas of the media driven by the very political forces and ideologies that are destructive by their very existence...
There really is not much you, I or anyone else can do to such blind ignorance...
I tend to believe that those type of people are not worth any of our time or effort to try to convince otherwise, especially in the times we live in now...
Sadly, America is past saving. The good people are severely out numbered by the bad, the sad, the dumb, the crooks, the thieves, the lazies, the murderers, the communists, the socialists, the muzzies, the illegals. We are so out numbered, I quit long ago to stop trying to count. Sadly, we are done. America has withdrawn His protective hand of a nation that has turned its back on Him. He has found America guilty. He has sentenced America. We are done. The only slight chance is total national repentance. That, I don’t believe will ever happen. Sad.
I think we shouldn’t write these people off as though they can never learn or never see the truth of what is going on. Nobody knows what one point said in just the right way will finally cause a breakthrough in one of them. it may be too late to make much difference in what is about to happen, but we need as many people armed with the truth in the fight that comes after.
Thank you for serving. We have sons who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and the torch is now in their hands. I share your sadness, but have hope that when the X’ers realize what the future holds for them that they will revolt and reclaim the America that made us the envy of the world. We gave Iraq and Afghanistan a chance at freedom and it should be a crime to squander that away the way Obama has. Giving up would betray all the sacrifices.
