An armed aggressor herding people into a back room is always a bad sign. It often precedes a mass murder. From the selmatimesjournal.com:
Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman said the incident appeared to be a case of self-defense and no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting Thursday afternoon. One customer showed good situational awareness, and was able to escape out the back door:
The incident occurred when Dallas County resident Kevin Mclaughlin entered Dollar General reportedly waving a pistol in the air, Huffman said. Mclaughlin then ushered a group of people inside the store into a break room.
Orrville resident Deforest James said he was in the Dollar General moments before the shooting occurred. James exited the building shortly after Mclaughlin waved the pistol and told customers not to move.No one can be certain how the incident would have turned out if customer Marlo Ellis had not been there and been armed, but the indications are that he prevented some very bad things from happening.
He said he was looking for three bad mother-ers and then I ran out and I busted out through the back door, James said.
The problem with that story ran a bit deeper than a misleading headline...it was more like a misleading full story.
Touche!
lol
Back then I read the story at the link and immediately detected BS as it never mentioned what the title claimed, so I looked up that MDs and called them. The actual source story never says it closed, only the title said that, I assume to draw traffic to the ads.
It is funny because it outed those who post replies directly to post's titles.
Oh, there’s no need to out me. I’ll do it: I’ve been proudly posting without reading the story since 1998.
What?
Then how did you know that I said that?
I just caught you reading!
I read a little bit just to throw people off. Like a liar will sometimes tell the truth....
Maybe FR should force freepers to pass an online quiz on each thread before it lets them post a comment on it.
But then again maybe my making up ideas that I know have zero chance breaks my won rules.
We already have one, it's called "Preview." The problem is we have to grade it ourselves.
What the Hell is with this story? Is this an excerpt? I read that some guy ran out a
back door. How did that stop a shooting?

Here’s a link to a thread from yesterday.

Customer kills gun-wielding suspect in Dallas Co. Dollar General
This is a link to the article from which that thread was using.
It seems to be a little more coherent.
snip
Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman Jr. says the gunman walked into the store waving
a gun in the air and forced a cashier and customer at gunpoint towards a break room
area. At that point, the customer pulled out a concealed weapon and shot the suspect
in the chest once.
“He escorted a customer and a cashier toward a break room. The cashier went in first and
the customer went in behind her and the individual had the gun on the customer and the
customer had a pistol concealed in a holster and when the customer got to the door, he
turned around and shot the individual,” Huffman told WSFA.
*****
The gunman’s motive remains unclear. Sheriff Huffman does not think it was a robbery.
He says words were exchanged between the gunman and the people inside the store but
there was never any mention of a robbery or hold up or money.
end snips
Funny... I clicked the link... it was the same content as was posted in the thread.
If you’re gonna troll me thinking I didn’t read the article, try reading the article yourself FIRST.
I know what you mean, one or twice I posted a comment on the wrong thread as I had multiple windows open.
Yeah, I’ve done that too. After 15 years I’ve committed just about every faux pas there is.
That word wrap button sometimes gets me.
Being charged is not being convicted. Many girls will lie about anything in an attempt to get out of trouble.
Guilty, throwing myself on the mercy of the court!
It appears that once the cashier got inside the break room, a customer that was walking into the break room shot the individual, the white male, with the pistol, Huffman said. There was only one shot fired and that shot struck the individual with the pistol causing the disturbance.
This is from the original source.
No pictures of either the gunman or the man who stopped him. Therefore, in the interests of fairness, let me post the demographic data of Dallas County, Alabama.
According to the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau:
69.4% Black
29.1% White
0.2% Native American
0.3% Asian
0.0% Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
0.7% Two or more races
0.7% Hispanic or Latino (of any race)
LOL!
What the hell are you talking about? I agreed with you. The article sucked. It was short on details at all three sources. I think I agreed with you. Right? ???????
My apologies, Tenacious. I read your initial post as snarky, so I misinterpreted your intent. The response post was more for Saxon than for you, and I apologize profusely for the misunderstanding. I meant no offense.
