I thought that implants were permanent. Watching this thread with great interest, just had (yet another) damaged molar pulled and I think I got a septicemia out of it, so fighting fever with antibiotics and rest.
My dentist is quoting me about eight grand per implant. That’s a bit rich for me.
Wondering if I could get steel ones. “His name’s Jaws; he kills people”. :-)

Shop around -— you should be able to get excellent implants for a lot less, without sacrificing either the quality of the implant or the quality of the oral surgeon performing the procedure. As others said, technology has come a long way, now implants are almost routine procedures.
My wife had several implants done. ClearChoice was the most expensive but also clearly the best in terms of dental staff-- I think $4-$5k with the augmentation and the crown.
You should be able to get an implant for $3500. If someone is quoting $8K you need to find a new surgeon. Once it’s in you’ll never have to think about it again. Fantastic technology. I don’t know anyone who has one who’s been dissatisfied.
You could be famous: Jaws-Riley....although some here will think you are a hairy-legged feminist poet.
Holy smokes. You can get an implant from a world-class dentist in Costa Rica for $1200 for the implant and $450 for the crown that goes on it. And I am talking about the white, metal-free Zirconium. The Titanium implants are even cheaper.
I can recommend a great implant dentist in Costa Rica if anyone wants to PM me.
