To: Bloody Sam Roberts

Friend had implants in her late fifties early sixties. All needed to be removed at 75. docs said they had about a 15 year lifespan. She was shocked, she did it when she had more income and was not expecting to re do. I think she went to a bridge.

I thought that implants were permanent. Watching this thread with great interest, just had (yet another) damaged molar pulled and I think I got a septicemia out of it, so fighting fever with antibiotics and rest.

My dentist is quoting me about eight grand per implant. That’s a bit rich for me.

Wondering if I could get steel ones. “His name’s Jaws; he kills people”. :-)

I have my full set of implants for 23 years and no problems. Just make sure of the Dr. you choose. He or she must have a track record and a good one for implants.

That’s not right. Implants last indefinitely if you take care of your oral health and you maintain healthy bones with a proper diet.
