This “admission” seems extremely dubious to me. Is she claiming that she created a hard copy of the short-form abstract? Did Hawaii even issue short-form, computer generated abstracts in 1985? If so, did they have the font and typographical qualities then that they have had in recent years? Surely they weren’t laser printed back then?
I have a hunch that this is just a big joke or some kind of intentional obfuscation— as if there wasn’t enough to go around on this issue.
What do you think of Obama’s expression when he says he was born in Hawaii?
Yes there were laser printers by 1985. But not in the 60s - printing was lead type set - the typography was excellent. Else one used a plain typewriter.
We had an apple laser printer and 6 macs in June 1986. I think adobe did the print types. We had Adobe PageMaker and I think this was before Adobe Illustrator.
Wait a minute! This is exactly what the birthers are looking for. This will keep the issue going for at least five more years ... :-) ...
The latter portion of your hunch was the first thing that crossed my mind. It's like Aesop's "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". Discredit a plausible scenario often enough and when it becomes a reality, it will be ignored by most.
Sounds like the sort of disinformation his handlers would like to put out there to entrap and discredit conspiracy theorists before any damaging truth gets out.
