Other timely observations on the current House Speaker (and head of the Vichy Republican faction) from the founder/prez of the
Media Research Center L. Brent Bozell, as heard on Levin's show this last Tuesday...
(The GOPis) falling apart...
no longer grounded by principle, but instead
by politics- and it's lousy politics at best
The budget agreement
-which is being touted as a 'compromise'-
is one more retreat by the Republicans
When is the last time you remember a
'compromise' that favored the Republicans?
This 'compromise' is... 'you give-up less
than you thought you might'
Projected savings that come at the end...
you shake your head in stunned disbelief...
because beginning-to-end it's dishonest!
And everyone who's participated
in this knows it is dishonest
This (isn't the best they can do)...
it's the best they tried to do!
The argument for ending the Obamacare defunding effort
was that we needed to get to work on the budget-
The argument for surrendering on the budget
is that they want to get back to Obamacare
They have NO intention of defunding Obamacare-
they have NO intention of balancing the budget,
or (even) getting the budget under-control...
$23B over ten years is less than spit- it's nothing.
... and all you need is one natural disaster
and that's wiped-out
The rank dishonesty! Everyone knew that when
the shutdown occurred this was going to be a paid vacation
for all the useless bureaucrats in Washington DC...
all of you folks out there were working,
but they were on on vacation- complaining about it!
What the Republicans should have done was what the Republicans did when John Boehner was pretending he had a spine: come up with a budget that funds the government -except for Obamacare- and let the Democrats fight over it.
Why should anybody vote Republican, when
all it is is a different version of the Democratic Party?
The (GOP) has abandoned the American people...
BONUS: Bozell noted this epic Reagan clip (seen on Hannity)...

I heard him yesterday on Levin, I was thinking about why we don’t hear more from Bozell. He really is quite good.

Agreed in full, inspired me to do this today and get it out there
And he’s got a cheerful personality, too- I would love to hire him as a speaker

RE :”
The argument for ending the Obamacare defunding effort..” Defunding effort???
You mean the shutdown which Obamacare funding was exempted from because like Social Security and Medicare it was pre-funded?? That was the 'effort' ?
The House passed and Obama signed a bill funding the troops during the shutdown, but that didnt defund Obamacare.
As with the bill to pay furloughed Federal employees for their time off which also had no Obamacare defunding provisions in it .

I will not be duped into voting for a Rat-Lite GOP candidate like McLame or Muttens simply because the GOP-e tells me "These are the only candidates that are electable". We all know how well that played our over the past 8 years. Never again. Start worrying about your base or you won't have any base other then the Chamber of Commerce, and last I checked they don't have a vote to cast, nor do their much loved illegal alien border invaders.
Nor will I ever subscribe to the theory that if I don't vote for a GOP candidate then I am casting a vote for the RAT - that has never made any sense at all. IF I don't vote for Mittens I am certainly NOT casting a vote for Baraq Hussein.

Only two-party votes in most cases are counted; other votes are largely ignored. Of course, we could arge that the “Libertgarian” vote in VA sunk the GOP there just last month. Then, Cuccinelli did seem to make quite a few campaign mistakes.

You could yet be brought aboard for Christie or his possible stand-in Jebbie. Already the Texans are lining up for Cornball and George P.

Brent is more like his uncle, Bill Buckley, than Buckley’s own son, Christopher Buckley.

Although I'm not in his district or even his state, I received a fund-raising letter from "Friends of John Boehner" yesterday......the usual mass-mailing type of campaign letter.
It opened "Dear John, You can count on me to stand behind you and your conservative leadership through 2014. I know you cannot continue to lead without my support. That's why I'm pledging you (sic) my support as you fight to stop the Washington Democrats' agenda........blah, blah, blah".
I'm always happy when a pre-paid return envelope is included in the literature. Very convenient.
