Obama given little credit for improving economy

President Obama is receiving little credit for the improving economy, according to a new poll by Bloomberg News.

Half of the public says the recent drop in the unemployment rate to seven percent would have happened anyway without the Obama administration doing anything, the poll suggests.

Forty-five percent, meanwhile, say Obama deserves credit for economic progress.

The Labor Department revealed Friday that 203,000 jobs were added in November, and the unemployment rate fell to seven percent--the lowest in five years.

Bloomberg’s poll also indicates 60 percent say Obama isn’t responsible for the improving housing market, and 64 percent don’t give him credit for skyrocketing stock prices.

A majority, 58 percent, disapproves of the way Obama has handled the economy, which is a 10-percentage-pont increase from a year ago.

Wrong on both points: It is NOT improving, and he SHOULD be held responsible.

translation: The public has finally figured out that every statistic coming from the government which portends to show an improving economy is an out-and-out lie.

If a Republican were in office is there a single Democrat who would characterize this as an “improving economy”? (the question answers itself)

Wow - that’s some poll. The tide is really turning against 0. And keep in mind lots of union folks are afraid to say what they really think because they don’t know who’s doing the poll. Thanks for the link.

This poll is very interesting to browse through.

Check out this question:

In thinking about the gap between the rich and everyone else, do you think it would be: (Read choices. Alternate order every other interview.)

45 - Better for the government to implement policies designed to shrink that gap

46 - Better for the government to stand aside and let the market operate freely even if the gap gets wider

9 - Not sure

The policies of Obama, going back to the early days and the passage of Porkulus in Feb. 2009, have not helped the economy. People simply are aware of the facts, and respond to the polls accordingly. Obama’s policies have, if anything, hindered economic growth, not supported same.

“....Austin reclaimed the No. 1 spot based on a booming technology sector. In total, Texas cities claimed 7 spots in the top 25, much of it, the report says, because of the shale oil and gas boom.....

....Among the losers this year was Washington, D.C., which fell from No. 5 to No. 45. The report says this is because stimulus spending finally ran out.”

Actually, the economy is not improving and he’s NOT being held responsible.

Obama wants it both ways. He wants to steal the bread from your home and thank him for the visit.

Obamadork has ONLY done things that will curtail any economic improvement. He likes where we are as a nation. That is, the middle class get poorer and poorer, and the poor get more and more free stuff.

Obamadork has NO interest in making things better. Complete economic collapse would be preferable to him, than an economic recovery. Until he is out of office, in whatever form that takes, we are stuck here as a nation. Get used to it.

Trillions of dollar in debt are keeping our lackluster economy treading water. I don’t know why anyone would want to take credit for that when there are vastly more effective and less costly ways to improve the economy.
