Its about what you want it to be. Tragedies should have nothing to do with justice. Justice happens when due process is exercised by the People, as it will be in this case.

The 14 year old kid simply refused to comply with police damands to drop what was seen as a genuine weapon. That got his ass killed.Tragedy.

Take your discount sale of tragedy , clothed as an exploitive morality play and mongering of tragedy, to Democratic Underground, or some such site.We can see clearly what you are up to.

I’ve been in that kid’s situation. When you are not aware of a cop’s presence and, out of the blue, he is yelling commands without context, it is disorientating and takes a few seconds to register what is happening.

The kid was not likely refusing to comply, but was confused and wasn’t given the time to get his head around what he was being ordered to do.

I don’t love your post.

I don’t think this post deserves your disdain.

“Justice happens when due process is exercised by the People, as it will be in this case.”

I doubt it, since justice in cases of police misconduct is rarely delivered nowadays.

“The 14 year old kid simply refused to comply with police damands to drop what was seen as a genuine weapon. That got his ass killed.Tragedy.”

Let’s be clear here. He was killed before he had a chance to comply with a completely unlawful police order. Is that what you want to be defending so callously?

Let’s see that video. Or are you of the mistaken impression that police officers never lie? I’m curious why you pinged Jim Robinson. Are you a moderator on this forum?

You are irrational. By your statements, it’s okay for a cop to shoot anyone on the street just because they are carrying a weapon.

That’s just what the Nazis did in Germany.

I assume you figure that this happened all the time thru the 20th century? Do you? Frankly I never heard of it.

Candor, the reaction of a 13 year old child to a policeman’s demand of authority would be much different than that of a hardened criminal who knows the drill. Shouldn’t an officer have the ability to recognize the situation at least equal to his ability to shoot to kill?

I pray that you or I would handle the situation to the officer’s liking if he comes down our street.

In a rational world this cop would get a fair trial and a speedy date with the hangman.
