For years, we've heard the Democrat Party and their ilk constantly bleat about the Republican war on women. They've pushed this narrative quite successfully, brainwashing low-information voters into the false belief that conservatives hate women and want to chain them down into perpetual servitude. This repeated lie has borne fruit for the Democrats as a full 56% of women voted for Obama in 2008 and then 55% in 2012 despite the country spiraling downward. The reality of this war on women is far different as it is the progressive liberals who have waged a war on women for decades.
Progressive liberals have done everything in their power to destroy the traditional family unit and, sadly, it is paying off for them. The number of single mother households has been increasing for decades, with an estimated 10 million. The percentage of married couples of all families with children have fallen from 80% in 1980 to less than 67% today. The results have been catastrophic as being the children of single mother households have a much higher percentage chance of dropping out of school or being incarcerated. The household income of a single parent home is much lower, usually requiring government assistance. The situation is even more dire in minority communities, with 67% of black children living in a single parent household.
Every year, more families are forced into poverty and government assistance programs. This burden falls most heavily on women as they're the ones who care and raise the children. Shouldn't progressive liberals be embracing economic policies that have proven time and again to lift people out of poverty and into prosperity? Why are liberal policies that have never worked and only bring misery and suffering repeatedly pushed upon the public? The choice of even living is also impacted. Abortion is heavily rampant and is celebrated by liberal progressives, but what about the unborn girls? Where is the concern for their unfilled lives that are tragically snuffed out before it could even begin? So far, there has been almost 57 million abortions in the USA since 1973, when Rove vs. Wade was decided in the Supreme Court. Don't their lives count?
The progressive liberal war on women even stretches to education. Mothers who are concerned on how their children are taught are being denied options on how best to educate their children. School vouchers are constantly attacked and home schooling is always trying to be subverted by state and federal governments. It seems that the only option that the State approves is the one chosen by the State itself: public education.
The answer to these questions is that it's all about control. A stable family unit that teaches individuality and personal responsibility is a threat to totalitarian progressives. To build their socialist utopia, where all people are dependent upon the State, the old institutions need to be destroyed. This is why traditional families are being wrecked and single motherhood being promoted. Single mothers voted for Obama with a whopping 70% while married women broke for Romney in the 2012 election. The sacred concept of motherhood is perverted by progressive liberals saying that the child growing in a mother's womb isn't a person, it's only a thing. It's an incontinence and easily disposed of. Progressive whackjob Gloria Steinem praises abortion, saying, "I knew it was the first time I had taken responsibility for my own life. I wasn't going to let things happen to me. I was going to direct my life, and therefore it felt positive." and that it was a "pivotal and constructive experience."
For decades, women have had a war waged upon them by progressive liberals, carried out in the most insidious fashion. Many of those broken by these liberal policies have embraced them and continually promote them, thus making the sure the cycle repeats and widens in scope in future generations. Yet, the big lie being told is that it's Republicans and conservatives who hate women. The rational and logical proof (something that is alien to progressive liberals) show the real truth, but the lie keeps getting repeated. Case in point: President Obama just gave the Presidential Medal of Freedom, our nation's highest civilian honor, to Gloria Steinem.
