Yesterday Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius triumphantly declared that The marketplace is working as she announced that just over 106,000 people had enrolled in a health care plan using the new online marketplaces during the month of October. Given that the Obama administration had previously set goals of around 500,000 enrollees in the first month of open enrollment, it is curious to ponder how few people could have signed before Sebelius declared that the marketplace was not working.
In addition to the enrollee figures, Sebelius also revealed that there were 975,407 who had applied for enrollment but had not yet selected a health care plan. Hearing these figures being presented in terms of how many people have enrolled or applied for a health care plan sounds very familiar, doesnt it?
Recall back in February 2009, prior to the passage of his so-called economic recovery plan, Barack Obama promised that the plan would create or save over 3.5 million jobs by the end of 2010.

Deemed Passed II: The Sequel
If any other business measured “success” the way the government does they’d never be able to plan for continuous improvement.
Based upon how HHS is counting those who are considered Obamacare customers, I assume the IRS will not penalize me if I have a health care plan in my shopping cart. Right?
I listened to Sebelius for a bit while at the gym yesterday. It really struck me hard; she was using the term “customer.” Really underscored for me how far off track this country is when a Presidential Cabinet head thinks of citizens as “customers.”

They would, however, be able to plan for continous shutdown and replacement by another business run by sane management. A pity the same thing does not happen to the feds.
Nowadays it’s as though the customer is never right. This has not always been the case but my experience as a consumer has shown me that the trend is that customers need only to be told what they “need to know” and that providing answers to customer’s specific questions is not seen as a priority.

Does that net you a lot of hits? How much do you make?
How much do you pay FR for advertising privileges?
Delusional.
Larry Kudlow this morning on talk radio said why help ‘save’ Obamacare. “Give Democrats enough rope to hang themselves.”
What happened to the strategy two weeks ago of the Republicans stepping aside to let Obamacare fail?
Rush has been talking daily about how the Rinos and the rest of the spineless GOP are pissing in their pants worrying about being seen as bad. The difference this time though is if the GOP helps save Obamacare the primary anger will be shown against those Republicans running in 2014 coming from conservative voters.
