Why is socialism winning?
Nolan Chart Blog ^ | November 8, 2013 | Mark Vogl

How are they doing it? How are the Liberals winning, forcing their social agenda on America and winning elections despite an economy that employs only 60 million of more than 300 million and has 48 million on food stamps? How do they keep winning when the nation is 17 trillion in debt and their policies are destroying the health care system?

It is almost more generally accepted than global warming that the American economy is default. The most recent article on Nolan Chart asks the question "Do you want to boost our economy?" Though extremely brief in substance, the article openly concedes a wrecked economy. And demonstrating three of the elements below, unity of purpose, courage and boldness, the author prescribes answers which are the essence of Liberal ideology and the exact reason for an economy in free fall.

I propose the following 6 elements are the back bone of their success:

a. Unity of purpose

b. Intellectual Courage

c. Boldness

d. Infiltration of the opposing political party

e. The synergy of their purpose with the tools at hand

f. The inherent moral weakness of the 21st Century American

Unity of purpose

This is the bedrock of their success, they believe in government as the solution. There is no room in their ideology for more than one god. There is no belief in God, or capitalism. There is no belief in freedom, or the human spirit. American Exceptionalism is seen as either a myth, or an anomaly in human existence that must be extinguished.

The unity of purpose in materialism and human secularism is a powerful combination with global sponsors and it is driven by two primal, eternal, powerful human instincts, greed and sex..

America's internal governance has been invaded by overseas interests; first from Europe and now from the Pacific where China finances an ever increasing American debt. Both of these regions compete with the U.S., and had been dismal failures when American Exceptionalism was in its high carnival in the twentieth century. But, the Europeans and others were smart enough to sell America an illusion, US responsibility for world peace. And it was this illusion on the right which eventually did us in. That illusion continues to this day and is most loudly articulated by conservative talk show host Sean Hannity.

Our "overreach" had several negative consequences for the world's do-gooders. First was to the building of the military industrial complex, and with this an addiction federal government. This illusion of US responsibility for all the problems created by the Europeans in the 15th thru 19th centuries brought America's ideological right to the trough of government spending. The Cold War dominated government from 1945 to the late 1980's. During the period, in order to sustain America's national will in the prosecution of the Cold War, domestic socialism was begun. Even such conservative stalwarts as Ronald Reagan made huge errors or surrenders to left at home, while he pursued his crusade to vanquish the evil Soviet Union.

The Cold War laid the intellectual ground work for the socialism which has exploded with the Obama Administration. It was the ideological right that convinced America to accept national debt as a means of financing forty five years of Cold War. The nation got used to debt, to increasing the debt level because we were afraid of nuclear extinction. And each time America almost woke up from this nightmarish dream, the Soviet Union, almost like an orchestral prompt would do something; invade a nation, start some war, threaten some national interest, launch a space craft, or seemingly be ahead in the space race. They would even be so bold as to promise America "we will bury you."

And so, America would react, increase defense spending, start new program, seduce a new ally with monies and our debt would again increase.

The left was smart enough to ride this wave. Sure they protested, burned draft cards, etc. But they are an intelligent, cunning species and they saw what was happening. The right was becoming addicted to government power, albeit through defense and foreign relations. But once they were addicted, the left could use that addiction to forward their own agenda, The Great Society, establishment of protected classes, and dependence on government subsidies.

Liberals are blind to the need for a capitalism to create wealth. They don't know what wealth is. They think its money. And government can print money, so who needs business! They don't realize they are eating their own golden egg. They can't see that without a private sector the money is worthless. They believe government can take over what is the private sector, and they are doing first in health care, 16% of the economy.

Intellectual Courage

Unlike the Right, the Left has the courage of its convictions. The left is willing to not just talk about policy in the classroom, but to take that untested policy and implement it. They know there will be rough spots, they know some will get hurt (though not themselves, they will shield themselves from the fallout of social nuclear blast), but they believe that like setting a broken arm, the sharp, excruciating pain will subside rapidly.

President Obama and his cohort have charged full steam ahead, overwhelmed initially resistance and set the Right to flight. And because they have a credit without limit, at least in the short term, they can create the infrastructure for unimaginable expense without the pain of the tax increases. That will come later, after they are on their pensions and writing their books.

But I do not mean to demean their courage. They believe in their cause and they are doing what it takes to impose it. They are not afraid of the consequences of their choices. They believe they are right. And so without hesitation, or compromise they pursue their goals.

Boldness

The left is arrogant in their understanding of their own agenda. When you have a White House Chief Staff say that no crisis can be wasted, he is announcing to the world that despite what events may happen outside the control of the White House, the aftermath of those events, and the pursuit of their objectives will occur. They will use the energy and momentum of events to their purpose. And since enlargement and the glorification of government is the end, government will act in its own best interest as uncontrollable events unfold.

Another example of their boldness is the comment by then Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi; if you want to know what’s in the 2500 page Obama Care you will have to wait ‘til we pass it.

In the whole process of adopting Obama Care the Liberals acted without concern for the Constitution of the normal ways of addressing legislation. Whatever it took, whatever rules had to be broken, the ends justify the means.

Infiltration of the opposing political party

The Supreme Court decision on Obama Care demonstrated that the left had infiltrated the opposing party. A Republican appointed justice became the pivot for the decision in favor of Obama Care. And following that, the McConnell - Boehner RINO cabal has either supported the Left, or been intentionally inept in its opposition.

Despite economic failure, and now the embarrassments connected to the Obama signature legislation, the Republican Party is in civil war. The moderate wing, lead by John McCain, Lindsey Graham, John Cornyn and a host of RINO's are hammering away at the conservatives in Congress and the Tea Party across the nation. In Virginia, in an all-important race that could have gone a long way towards slowing Obama Care, the Republican mainstream walked away from the Tea Party candidate.

The split in the Republican Party which really began with Ronald Reagan and the exodus of conservatives from the Democrat Party has become more obvious, wider, and more unsolvable during the Obama Presidency. The Liberals and media have done a really good job of exciting the fight, and reporting it. But, in reality the differences within the Republican Party are the differences between Left and Right. The core values of the East Coast blue bloods and the Bible Belt are just too vast to be in any way common to both sides. Karl Rove and Sarah Palin clearly illustrate the differences. And because Rove is a political creature, he will survive no matter who wins on Election Day. But he will survive much better if Palin and her types don't win.

The synergy of their purpose with the tools at hand

This part is a no brainer. Since the left believes in the almighty righteousness of itself and government, it is comfortable with the use of all aspects of government. Taxation, regulation, laws, programs, policies, redistribution of wealth are all organic aspects of socialism. And problems are just the natural part of governance. Problems set the stage, and create new opportunities to demonstrate ability in using government. The problem does not have to be solved, in fact, it should not be solved. The key is creating a need, a psychological need by the citizenry for something to be done. And the longer it takes to do it, the more money can be collected, the more people employed by government to address the problem, the more news stories, and the more publicity for those involved in addressing the public's concern.

Government is NOT about solving problems. Government is about MANAGING problems so that government can get fatter from the problems.

The inherent moral weakness of the 21st Century American

"Home of the free and the brave." is a laughable description of America in the 21st Century. When just 18 Muslim fanatics on September 11th could rock America to the point where the collapse of the Twin Towers are not just two buildings falling, but an entire nation locked in fear, John Wayne's America was gone. Ashes to ashes.

Americans are not the pioneers of an early. Wholesome, sturdy, self-reliant, God fearing, are not terms that can be applied to the American population. Alexis de Tocqueville, when travelling America at the turn of the 19th century, saw in America closeness between God and the people. He warned that when America stopped being good, it would stop being great. The moral collapse of America that began in the late fifties and the nation's rejection of God, was epitomized in the 2011 Democratic Convention, when by voice vote the party rejected God three times.

Diversity, open borders, black self-imposed victimization psychology, liberal white superiority have all worked to reveal the lowest character of man. The drug culture which swept over America in the late sixties has polluted the character of the nation. Feminism has destroyed the American family and American pastors have been frightened into silence through government intimidation.

This is not the America of patriots fighting against the world's greatest military power Britain. This is not the America of the Alamo. Self-sacrifice, devotion to God, and working and saving for a better day is not America today.

America is a testament to the weakness of man. There is no groundswell for higher moral standards. There is no American citizenry oppressed, but rather a citizenry voluntarily walking up and putting the chains on themselves. The Liberals are giving Americans what they want. And that's why Obama could have approval ratings in the forties when his policies are destroying our nation. It is the American people, not the politicians who are losing their legacy. It is the citizens who will bow their heads in shame to their grandchildren when they ask, how did this happen?

IMHO. Socialism is winning because there are no longer any signs of a living God to the majority of people in this country. And, when there is no higher authority than man, the consensus of man (government) becomes the ultimate authority and only logical place to look to solve all of our problems. Also, many people have subconscious guilt over divorce, chemical dependency, abortion, gluttony, waste and general hedonism, and in an attempt to assuage that guilt, they will support social programs that actually promote those very same vices for all. For example, if a person is twice divorced, on birth control and currently has a live in lover, on what grounds can they denounce gay marriage? The same goes for gluttony and waste. How can someone who eats far more than they need and wastes much of that, not support food stamps for others? I believe the guilt of their actions pushes them to support social programs that in reality make their actions more mainstream.

“How are the Liberals winning, forcing their social agenda on America and winning elections despite an economy that employs only 60 million of more than 300 million and has 48 million on food stamps? “

That’s an odd question. More people on food stamps than productively employed is exactly how the liberals are winning.

Actually, a lot of “Americans” are lazy and if something is free they’ll go that road and scam the system to the max. Our schools have not taught American individualism and there’s no motivation to get way ahead, just to get along.

TL;DR

they rely on the good will and tolerance of conservatives

the solution is obvious:
stop tolerating them
stop hiring them
do not frequent their shops
do not associate with them, family or not

shun them from society

live your life with the people you want to live it... and do not tolerate those trying to destroy it

Indiana Senate majority leader David Long has called for a meeting of the states.

Set for December 7th at Mount Vernon VA, the assembly will discuss the parliamentary rules to be followed when a state amendment convention is called.

Both the date and location are historically rich. The first Mount Vernon assembly in 1785 set off events that culminated with ratification of the constitution.

Prelude to a State Amendment Convention.

THIS IS HUGE!!! A second American Revolution—without gunfire, without violence, just as the framers intended.

And, when there is no higher authority than man...

The first commandment of the 10 commandments is being ignored.

Before Richard Mourdock was ran out of town for standing up against infanticide, they were running commercials non-stop claiming he believed Social Security is unconstitutional (which it is.). I believe they were on to something with some so called conservatives.

Well simply put, we conservatives are full of ourselves and think merely having the sane positions, venerating the Constitution, and assuming Jesus is on our side is enough to win by default with little effort past that. We’ve been told that conservatism “wins” every time it’s articulated....until it doesn’t, and then we blame RINOs, Libertarian spoilers, voting fraud, and bash the candidate as not doing ABC. We seem so shocked at how hard elections are because our two examples always seem to be 1980 and 1984, like that is the standard we should expect every time.

Most conservative parents don’t fight the junk their schools expose to their kids. Many of us gladly spend money on products that enrich left-wing companies. We suck at alternative programming on TV/Movies. Many on our side eschew internet activism. We make mediocre alternative news sites to capture the low info voter. Far too many of us wish for a complete collapse and a shooting war because it would be “easier” than actually fighting in the arena of ideas/entertainment.

But we own AM talk radio....

The list goes on and on.

Conservatives are 100 yards or noting players.

So true. I enjoy RINO hunting as much as the next guy, but I could accept one IF I could be assured that they were only playing the slow, reverse incrementalism game like the socialists are so good at. Unfortunately, I know they are not that organized.

Very good. In addition, they are more talented, on the average more intelligent, better organized, more persistent-(they have been seeking absolute power since the 1930's). They understand what motivates Americans better than do conservatives; for example, Conservatives want to argue and debate, discuss etc. in short "REASON." In one fell swoop the Liberal destroys conservative "REASON" with offers of money and pity. The liberal recognizes that emotions govern not "REASON". They want absolute power and are willing to do anything to obtain it lie, cheat, steal, kill ANYTHING!

The Conservative fails to realize that in these times the normal political processes no longer work. Until we change we will be kept around solely to amuse the left.

Nobody in a red state has to accept a RINO as their candidate for senate or house. The blue staters have a problem but I can understand as VA is turning more blue by the day.

Socialism is winning because conservatives appear to have no interest in the arts. Hollywood is bashed here on FR. Liberal arts degrees are mocked. Sociology is made fun of. The entertainment industry has been ceded. How many of you encourage your children to get journalism degrees? Education degrees?. The entire propaganda machine has been handed to the socialists while conservatives pat themselves on the back for having “real jobs”. . Well congrats you blue collar morons and you Corporate idiots out there. applaud your conservative self for “being your own boss” and “running your own business”. Big deal. Your country has been stolen and we allowed it.

Mighty powerful speakin' there, Bob

"Socialists have a herd mentality. It is easy to round them up to vote, protest, etc., whatever their "leaders" want.
Conservatives are, by nature, independent. They can't be bused in for protests. It is not easy to organize conservatives into groups. But, if there is a common purpose of goal, they will be active."

I will not be bussed in, I will unite with Patriots.

I'm gonn'a work on that ... thanx.
