I keep hearing this Democrat talking point being trotted out, accusing the Republicans of harming their constituents by not doing everything in their power to "fix" the Affordable Health Care Act. This one must test well in focus-groups because it keeps getting repeated. I've yet to hear one Republican answer this coherently. Here's my suggestion for a response:
"If I saw a friend's house being looted would I do everything in my power to stop the looting, or would I walk over and try to negotiate with the looters? Would I call the police and try to get some neighbors to help out, or would I see if I could persuade the looters to delay their looting by a few months, and maybe not take all of the good silverware? To anyone who believes in the principals on which this country was founded the Affordable Care Act is nothing less than government-sanctioned looting of our health care system. The Republican party's only goal is to put a stop to it, not to help it proceed more smoothly."
Get that Pelosi "Big Gavel" picture with all the RAT leaders and put Republican faces on the bodies. Title "It's the Republicans' fault".
Why polish a turd? Your answer is that WE want to REPEAL it not “fix” socialism (which can’t be fixed)!
We need to put this fire out, and reassess where the country stands with healthcare. There is an opportunity here, for Republicans, if they're only smart enough to take advantage of it.
Nancy should have been making a phone call to her physician after that walk...
“yes... I’d like a referral to a proctologist... yes... foreign object... uh huh... yeah, large would be a good description...”
Coz ya can’t fix stupid.
This law was deemed passed in the house by the Botox demon from Kalifornika. If they can to buy insurance, what is next? An electric car? Requiring you live less that five miles from work and ride a bike every day? That is the way the dims think. Force people to do things against their will.
You can’t polish a turd.
I know this is an over the top analogy, but my answer to the headline is in another question: Why didn’t the jews in Nazi Germany try to fix Nazism?
It’s because it was rotten to the core. Some things don’t get fixed. They get replaced - and sometimes with nothing. What did most people replace their electric can opener with? A manual one. It works better and is cheaper.
Man breaks into your house. Tries to shoot you but his gun jams. Do you help him clear the jam so he can proceed to shoot you or do you take the jammed gun and stick it up his a$$? I know what I would do.
cuban leaf you are way smarter than average
Best thing they have going for ‘em is not a single one of them voted for this turkey.
Worst thing they could do would be laying their fingerprints on it now.
So you’re saying we should help the looter? You didn’t think this through, did you?
When you see a wounded animal that you know is going to die the only compassion you can give is to put it out of its misery
ObamaCare is communism designed to takeover our healthcare. I don’t want it fixed! I want it gone!
He would refer to a wreck like ObamaCare as a "radiator cap job". That is, it was in such bad shape, you'd take off the radiator cap and drive a new car underneath it. He would take them on trade-in only because he had a close connection to a salvage yard which would come and get it. It amazed me how many people would willingly forfeit even $50 to $100 because they were unwilling to deal with the salvage yard directly.
“Republicans can come along for the ride, but they’re gonna have to sit in the back of the bus.” They needs to stay as far away from this as possible. The “if you like your health plan, you can keep your health plan” statement needs to be shouted from the rooftops 24/7, and hung like a millstone around Democrats’ necks.I’ve been waiting for some RINO to speak out and call for bipartisan support for “fixing” this, which amazingly they haven’t done.
This baby is 100% a democrat catastrophe. The only possible solution is to scrap it and that's the ONLY acceptable Republican position. I hope the Tea Party is prepared to wage a holy war on any GOPer who does anything to help the rats out of this mess!
What’s that old adage, You can’t polish a Turd?
Reagan's explanation of "Eternal Life" would meet your requirement.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Reagan was a democrat, and he never really had anything in common with the GOP at all.
In fact, the GOP hated him and did not want him as their candidate.
