I prefer the planks nailed into the border fence.

My plank is very simple:

Adopt a sane immigration policy based on what's going to benefit the national interest, not some ethnic grievance group or the parties of bigger government.

Most of the first world already has such policies in place. See Singapore, Switzerland and Japan for the best examples. See Canada, Australia or New Zeeland for reasonable examples.

73% - Defend language, culture, borders-no legalization status permitted

27% - “Texas Solution” — Market & Law based approach- includes guest-worker program for Texas

Majority want the ‘heartless’ solution. Sorry Rick.

Immigration is a major issue in the GOP Lt. Gov. primary. Abbott won’t take a stand. Patterson, whom I otherwise like, seems to favor a squishy guest-worker approach. Dan Patrick wants “our southern border secured and the social enticements to illegal immigrants to end.”

Whoops. That’s a bit confusing. I mixed two posts’ cut’n’paste together. Abbott is running for Governor, of course. Not Lt. Gov. He has, though, been too coy about his immigration stand.

The only plank I’m for is the one McLame and Grahamnesty should be forced to walk at pistol point.

I am not from Texas.

RE: 2010: Defend language, culture, borders-no legalization status permitted.

Language, English and NONE other! No Vietnamese, no Arab-whatever, just plain English ... not even Esperanto!

Culture, the liberals keep saying ‘that America has no culture’, or as the Russians used to call it, nyeh-kultoorney, because We The People, are not swallowing the Communnist BULL. WE HAVE a culture.

NO, it is not poignantly English, German, French, Spanish (Louisiana was Spanish before French), Italian, Slavic, or Scandinavian. It is ALL of that, and more. Therefore, “One, out of many”, does work, in this regard. All the folks from all over the globe, seeking to be FREE to exercise their own will, and take charge of their personal life’s destiny, instead of some high-borne regal figure. (Which the liberals disdain!)

Borders, already patrolled before loved by liberals invaders came here in droves, and started demanding their ‘rights’, which do not exist, since they are NOT citizens, unless they pursue the legal process of naturalization. NOW, anything short of extreme prejudice, would be forgiven by this writer. Build a structure that would work, enforce it, as much as Mexico enforces their southern border, and our two countries might come to an understanding. NO legalization, no creature comforts, no hospitalization, nothing.

Hate me if you want, I am a NATIVIST, and every time anything with any illegal (even including a purple ET), reinforces my beliefs.

WE HAVE a culture.

Indeed we do. You should see the deer-in-headlights reactions I get when people I run into glorify multiculturalism and I respond that they're wrong, we're multi-ethnic with ONE culture.

Boston Baked Beans, German Frankfurters and Sauerkraut, Amish Potato Salad, Arbuckles’s American Cowboy Coffee, American Granny Smith Apple pie.

The ones refusing to ASSIMILATE into OUR culture, are the Mexicans and Arabs, even as they demand that WE respect THEIR ways.

“In a pig’s eye!”
