Glenn Beck, Pat & Stu were discussing a story on TheBlaze this morning regarding Elevation Church Pastor Steven Furtick's new 16,000 square foot mansion he is building in Charlotte, NC.
They were surprised by the number of conservatives who voted negatively toward this in a poll questioning whether a pastor should live in such a mansion. Is one a "Progressive" if they see this as objectionable or imprudent?(continued/video)

Did the money for the mansion come from the church? If so, I would say they were stealing it for themselves.
Preachers should be humble and without worldly gain. Once they begin to prosper from their ministry, they are no longer doing G_d’s work, they are doing their own.
From what I’ve read, it come from his book sales; however, he sells many of the books to his church...
Dispicable. This man needs.to.read.what Christ said about the rich man.
I agree. Paul work a side job making tents to finance his ministry work, not enriching himself.
Usually, what one finds in a situation like this is an individual or a group of individuals who have built a ‘house of merchandise’ ministry. Churches are not businesses. Businesses are businesses. It’s sad the obvious has to be stated in such times as these.
Amen! Every preacher that I have known that was worth a squat, was humble, and lived a modest life. Their mansions would come in heaven, not here on earth.
If these mega preachers were true to their calling, all the money that they would put into a mansion, would be given to the poor.
You mean Luke 19 where Jesus told the parable that is was good to increase one’s wealth, but a sin to be lazy and not increase it?
After we left PTL, my father managed a television station for a great man who was the opposite. He owned many TV stations and he made millions on his own. He pastored a church where he and his wife lived in a tiny, humble parsonage and you would never know he was wealthy, no mansion, a plain car, plain clothing... He blessed people and ministered.
A man of G_d to be sure.
glenn how big is the current mormon prophet’s house?
The Mormon prophet has his own house, but he also has a top floor apartment in downtown Salt Lake City. He has all of his bills paid by the church, meals, travel, security detail, entertainment, clothing, everything. The total package of compensation for the prophet is probably around half a million a year.
I don’t get it, what’s the purpose of G_d? You don’t think God knew you meant when you typed G_d? I guess you figure that little “_” fooled him, huh?
Glenn Beck is required to give 10% of his income to the Mormon religion, or else he is forbidden worship in those grand Mormon temples and is unable to serve in the secret ceremonies conducted there, that law applies to Bishop Mitt Romney and Harry Reid as well all three are Temple Mormons, they are of the most devout and devoted.
They are checked out every two years with a personal interview to make sure that they are complying and giving a full minimum of 10% or else they are kicked out of the Temple, and they are issued ID giving them entrance into the Temples of the elites, the ID must be renewed annually, not every two years.
Doesn’t Reverend Wright live in a huge new home with elevator? Paid for supposedly by his church for the “poor”, all the while the white man is keeping him down!
That’s how the Jewish people type it out of respect.
Glenn said the man gives away 40%. He makes his money by selling books. I think once you hear the whole story you might feel differently. I guess it’s subjective.
I suspect some of the votes on his site are not from conservatives. Have you ever read some of the comments on The Blaze? They sound like 4-year-old children.
Go ahead, but a house that big for a single family has nothing to do with God and everything to do with man.
