NBC News on Monday claimed to have uncovered evidence that President Obama knew all along that his promise that "you can keep your health plan" under ObamaCare wasn't true. The story came out just as millions across the country are getting cancellation notices from their insurance companies.
"Buried in ObamaCare regulations from July 2010," NBC said, is an estimate that shows "the administration knew that more than 40% to 67% of those in the individual market would not be able to keep their plans, even if they liked them."
Although the law included a provision meant to grandfather health plans sold before 2010, regulators defined what "grandfathered" meant so narrowly that most plans wouldn't qualify.
Yet Obama went on repeating this promise, saying, as he did in June 2012, that "if you're one of the 250 million Americans who already (has) health insurance, you will keep your health insurance."
That the administration knew this wasn't true is troubling.
But the mainstream press also knew — or should have known — that Obama's "you can keep your plan" promise was phony. It just didn't bother to report on it at the time.

If he knew what he was saying was false, he lied. As Hannity said: the President of these United States of America deliberately LIED to ALL of the American people. No small accusation [OK I know you will say, we knew all along it was a big fat lie, pants on fire etc.; but now it is out there, common knowledge — not a pretty picture. A national embarrassment for all of us to have the present or any POTUS be so — little, mean-spirited, etc.]
If he did not know what he was saying was false, while others in the administration provably did, and they didn’t tell him??? — HA! we have another Catch 22. Does not play.

So did everyone else. The liberals just wanted to hear him say it. Words are infinitely more satisfying than reality.

I am old enough (65) to remember Nixon and the Watergate hearings. It would have been difficult to find one writer or commentator who did not say “Nixon knew, OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN about the Watergate break-in.”
The new meme of the mainstream media is that Obama didn’t know, and since he didn’t know, he cannot be held accountable. I wonder if they’ll apply that same criterion to the next republican president. If there is a next republican president. If there is a next president.
I do not think that the media knew all along (headline). But I don’t doubt that 0bama, Sebelius, etc. knew all along.
