A spokesperson from China's Health and Family Planning watchdog says no comments to the recent report concerning Russia's free health care, as the situation differs greatly from country to country.

Media reports which said that Russia is to announce free health care for its entire population have aroused concerns among Chinese netizens that domestic health care needs a change. Spokesperson Deng Haihua claims that Chinese media misread the source information relating to Russia's health care.

"Health care reform is a worldwide difficulty," Deng said. China has been speeding up the establishment of a universal health care system, which can cover every resident in both rural and urban areas by the year 2020, he added.

“Media reports which said that Russia is to announce free health care for its entire population”

Wasn’t it Martina Nevertoloveaman who just recently said that Russia was already doing that?

China scrapped its socialized medicine scheme in 1989. It was too expensive with their rapidly aging population.

Curiously, that was also about the time Western, faux intellectuals stopped lauding the economic development in China

Is America the only first world country where the liberals insist on trying every communist and socialist scheme that has failed in every country that has already tried it?

“Is America the only first world country where the liberals insist on trying every communist and socialist scheme that has failed in every country that has already tried it?”

No it isn’t and more’s the shame;

The United Kingdom
Sweden
Norway
France
Germany
Italy
Australia

The list goes on.

I have actually seen the NHS in the UK operate first hand because my oldest daughter has a British husband. The maternity ward where her children were delivered would make a public hospital in the US look good.

My Aunt and Cousins live in Germany, I can’t speak for the Hospitals there though one Cousin is a Doctor, But I have heard some of the co pays that my Aunt has had to pay for dental, vision and medical and it is insane. I asked my Mother what was the point of her Sister working and paying into the system all her life when she has such high out of pocket expenses.

Russia has practically abandoned socialized health care circa 1992.
In reality only an emergency care is free. Other services provided by state run clinics are so obviously substandard and delayed and that fact alone encourages patients to choose private clinics.
