My brother was on disability once felt better and wanted off (the gov”t) thought he was nuts
SSDI is the hot scam right now. Did you “twist your back”? Lose your job due to alcoholism? Eyes going bad? Bum knee? Too fat? Find a lawyer who specializes and get on the SSDI gravy train. In some places (I’m looking at you, Boston FD) when you get near retirement (55-ish) it’s presumed you will do like everybody else and jump on the gravy train. Bad migraines? Apply today!
Observe jail arraignments anyday, anywhere. Many have plenty of tats (not cheap), smart phones, drug ridden tooth loss, and several will be on disability. Mostly BS, and they plan to pay their way our of crime when they get disability.
Watched this segment of 60 Minutes that came on after the football game and wondered what CBS was up to by exposing government fraud and waste as this clearly was not approved by the regime!
I work in the medical field and see this every day. These people also abuse the emergency department.
See BS honchos will be getting a call from president Jarret today....
Saw the piece....
This stuff with SSI has been going on for years....this is not a recent trend
With the RINO ways recently of Sen Coburn...this will be a story for a bit then disappear
Reality is....no GOP politician not named Cruz would have the stones to challenge the system. Bad economic policy (high taxes, Free Trade) has killed jobs in many areas. Pols in both parties are quite aware of this

This has been going on for years. My nephew's ex had his preteen daughter playing this game. Her mom screwed that child's mind up.
Disability is a lawyers paradise...
government agents virtually beg soldiers or anyone coming out the airport gate to apply for disability for things like shaking a leg while eating.
The day will come soon when they will seize your assets so that the “poor disabled people” can continue to get their daily pork steak.
Bump for the gravy train.
Why is Pfizer sponsoring clip at the link?
Thanks for posting.
I watched the segment and can only say “so what?” If billions of dollars can be dumped around the world on thugs and thieves why not a few billion on Americans whose jobs have ended in this broken economy?
Once authorities start arresting these scammers for disability fraud then we will see some drop in bogus claims.

The number of retiring Long Island Rail Road employees applying for disability benefits dropped nearly 50 percent last year from 2011 — the year that federal prosecutors started going after former LIRR workers on fraud charges, federal statistics show.
According to U.S. Railroad Retirement Board figures, 90 LIRR retirees sought federal disability benefits in 2012 — a 46 percent decline from 2011, when 167 people applied.
“Guys are terrified,” said one LIRR union leader who declined to be identified. “When they started seeing guys go to prison, they said, ‘It’s not worth it.’ “
