As I discussed yesterday, Obamacare subsidies are available in Virginia to households making 400% of poverty line and twice the Virginia median household income. So, households making above $120,000 per year bear the subsidies for those earning under $120,000.
Now we find out from RealtyTrac that half of bank-foreclosed properties are STILL occupied by prior owners! That means FREE RENT FOR DEFAULTERS!!!!!!!
We already know that 43% of Americans pay no Federal income taxes. And the number of people on food stamps continues to explode.
So, its FREE MONEY FOR EVERYONE!!!! At least for people making less than $120,000 a year.

Yeah.....OK.......they aren’t paying for their housing......But look at the bright side! That means they have money to give to the Democrats!
I was just talking to a realtor about this last week. He said it was a huge problem. People can live in their homes for 2 years without paying the mortgage or taxes. He sees a lot of it. I was skeptical, but now this confirms that.
At a previous residence, the home next to me went into foreclosure. The owners remained there for over 18 months rent and tax free before being evicted. During that time they maxed out multiples credit cards buying all sorts of luxuries. Once the sheriff served them the evection notice they moved, but the inside of the house looked like something from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Once new owners purchased the home they immediately had to replace the roof and some drain pipes. Seemed the original owner clogged the pipes and drilled holes through the roof. These people eventually filed bankruptcy, were allowed to keep all the items purchased and were wished good luck by the judge.
I know have a friend who is recently divorced and his ex-wife is living in their home. Their lawyers advised her to stay in the home and pay nothing. She was told she could probably stay there two years before an eviction and bank money during that time.
Although I was raised properly and know right from wrong everything I have observed makes me think I am a fool for playing by the rules
If they go vacant they become susceptible to neglect, vandalism, etc. Plus the decay drives down all the property values in the area.
The banks are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.
check this out
The couple behind my house haven’t made a house payment in over a year and they know hey will be there until November, after that they have plans to buy another home.
There was a sitcom called BARNEY MILLER. It was about some detectives in New York City. In one episode, Detective Harris arrests this boy who is a drug dealer. Harris starts to lecture the boy, but the boy keeps showing that he is wealthier than Harris. Harris finally gets flustered and says, “Oh yeah! Well I have something that you can’t get young man.......CREDIT!”
I guess we still have that going for us.
Self-ping for later reading. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for that! I really needed a good laugh! ROFL!
There is a family living right across the street from me that haven’t paid their mortgage for going 3 years! They don’t take care of the property and they let their children wreak havoc throughout the neighborhood. It’s awful!
The foreclosed house currently being occupied by the “takers” that live across the street from me would be better off if it were abandoned. They have an ice cream truck(totally illegal-township will not do anything about it) that has been rotting in their driveway for 7 years, the yard is without a blade of grass and is eroding to the point where you can see the roots from the trees, and the yard is strewn with toys and garbage. The kids are unruly and cause mayhem. I would prefer an abandoned house at this point!
Wow! What a shocker!
With the government shutdown I am lucky enough to keep my job, but my retirement check will be in question if this goes on over a couple of months. Don't know how I'll do with out my military retirement (it pays one of mortgages). I suppose I could be like every other deadbeat and just not pay my obligations , but I was not raised that way, and neither were my children.
Sadly I don't see things getting any better for a very long time. There has been a precedence set it will be hard to put this one back. (stepping down from soapbox) /rant
One of my all-time favorites. Likeable characters, dealing with real-world situations in a usually comedic way. Sometimes liberal "solutions", but never obnoxiously so.
Putting the former owners out only makes it necessary to secure the property, winterize it or keep it heated (in most of the country) and have it periodically checked. All of that inflates the loss the bank is already taking on the bad loan. When it is a few weeks short of time to put it up for sale is the time to evict. But they are missing one thing; they don't (or seldom do) file criminal charges against those who deliberately damage the property before they leave.
