I am attending the Gun Rights Policy Conference in Houston today. Last night there was a reception, and many prominent second amendment supporters attended. I was able to snap some photos of a few. I missed many. I have included links to their organizations.

Are the presentations streaming anywhere? Up on Youtube later?
Dang, I wisht I was there!
I hope they really get the attitude that gun rights should not just be defended, but advanced. So many states have done well, but still need to be aware of and working for gun liberty goals. Several possibilities:
1) Go “Arizona”, needing no licensing for open carry or concealed carry.
2) Strict rules about what personal information can be retained on gun records by state and private businesses. As well as a requirement that gun stores must notify the state if any federal agency or authority demands a gun store’s gun sales records with personal information within (which is currently illegal, but is being done anyway.)
3) Create a state process by which someone who has been declared mentally incompetent can be examined and declared by a judge to be mentally fit (especially veterans declared unfit by VA bureaucrats, not doctors), and thus not prohibited from (private sale) gun purchase or ownership, even if they are excluded from purchase by federal law.
4) Streamline state law to provide incentives for “micro” arms and ammunition makers to make products in state, using in state materials, and for sale on condition that they only be used in state, and are marked as such.
5) States should encourage high school and college rifle and pistol marksmanship teams, as well as superseding county and city laws prohibiting indoor and in some cases, outdoor, gun ranges.
6) States should make and update and annually provide a free, downloadable, instructional DVD video about gun laws, gun safety, hunting licenses, hunting seasons, hunting areas, hunting etiquette, range locations, competitive gun events, etc.
Why are police agencies being given military armored vehicles by Obama? Is Obama planning to quell citizen protests of his government?
