Where's Sweet Pea?
After 30 years - the Arizona Ash tree in the front yard had to come down. No more hours spent IN the tree. Might as well be where the tree WAS.

Yes.Living on a farm I observed that cats, dogs, and cows all missed the presence of one of their own who suddenly disappeared and would spend hours searching and calling(crying?) for the missing one for a few days.Seeing a cat returning again and again ,while uttering plaintive cries , to where she last left a housemate who died makes one wonder about many things.

I don't know your cat's age, but these Empress trees can supposedly grow 25 feet in 2 years.

No cat. Not even the ‘image’ of a cat. I think you’re wanting to see something that’s not there.

Yeah, I think so. Pefectly healthy looking tree. I planted it 30 years ago. It was in the front yard and so I kept it up. But it was losing limbs and branches. Not even dead limbs. The leaves on a limb would still be green but ~ BAM! ~
A branch about 2 inches wide and some 15-20 feet long would just fall off. As you can see - I had a professional remove the tree AND the stump and roots. He said this is common for ash trees over 25 years old.

For the last twelve years of her life, my mom moved in with us, so we could monitor her health. Her beautiful, sweet Maine Coon cat [ ancient of years] came with her. Everyone adjusted to their new home just fine. When mom passed, her cat who would curl up under the empty chair at the dining table, when mom sat.
We tried to console her with extra attention and activity. But there she would stay under that empty chair. Two weeks after mom went to her reward, the cat died. I believe with all my heart that she died from grief, even though she was quite old for a housecat.

We had an epidemic of emerald ash borer sweep thru Michigan a few years ago that literally decimated our ash trees here in S.e. Michigan.....
You might want to check it out. If your tree did have it then any other ash trees on your property may be danger. There is a product you can buy that you water the tree with that will keep the borer at bay.
All the ash trees that were in my sub and neighboring subs either died from it or were cut down to try and prevent the spred. My neighbor has the only healthy ash tree around but he has been treating it every year since the borer was first noticed in our area.......

No cat. Not even the image of a cat.Yup, it's there. It's an orange and white cat and it's actually looking in the camera's direction. Hard to see but it's there.
