Is The United States Going To Go To War With Syria Over A Natural Gas Pipeline?
Economic Collapse Blog ^ | 03 September 2013 | Michael Snyder

Why has the little nation of Qatar spent 3 billion dollars to support the rebels in Syria? Could it be because Qatar is the largest exporter of liquid natural gas in the world and Assad won't let them build a natural gas pipeline through Syria? Of course. Qatar wants to install a puppet regime in Syria that will allow them to build a pipeline which will enable them to sell lots and lots of natural gas to Europe.

Why is Saudi Arabia spending huge amounts of money to help the rebels ... ? Well, it turns out that Saudi Arabia intends to install their own puppet government in Syria which will allow the Saudis to control the flow of energy through the region.

On the other side, Russia very much prefers the Assad regime for a whole bunch of reasons. One of those reasons is that Assad is helping to block the flow of natural gas out of the Persian Gulf into Europe, thus ensuring higher profits for Gazprom. Now the United States is getting directly involved in the conflict. If the U.S. is successful in getting rid of the Assad regime, it will be good for either the Saudis or Qatar (and possibly for both), and it will be really bad for Russia. This is a strategic geopolitical conflict about natural resources, religion and money, and it really has nothing to do with chemical weapons at all.

If Qatar is able to get natural gas flowing into Europe, that will be a significant blow to Russia. So the conflict in Syria is actually much more about a pipeline than it is about the future of the Syrian people.

The best thing America can do is finish our own gas export terminal, and then ship our own gas to Europe. Much more profitable than fighting someone else’s war.

Who is who, and who is backing whom in Syria.

Here's all you need to know about Syria”:

A minority of 26% of the population is allied with Assad: Alawite Muslims (Assad's tribe), Druze Muslims, Shi'ite Muslims, Christians. This 26% minority runs Syria.

The 74% majority out-of-power are Sunni. The anti-government rebels are being encouraged and funded by Sunni states like Saudi Arabia and the Gulf nations. Obama has sided with the Saudi-backed Sunni rebels.

The Iranians, Russians, and Chinese back Assad. If Obonzo is stupid enough to attack, he might trigger a major war with Assad's allies and that's the real danger the idiots inside the DC Beltway are ignoring or downplaying to appease this lying POS (and his brain, Valerie Jarrett) in the White Hut.

Whenever the Opecker Princes get involved with their behind closed door, criminal acts, the Latin phrase coi Buno, who benefits, needs to be looked at.

It has been pretty obvious to me and my friends for some time that this is what the whole thing is about. It also lends some credibility to individuals and journalists reporting from Syria that the Sarin incident was an accident caused by incompetent rebels trying to put together some Sarin based WMDs furnished to them by Saudi Arabia’s spy services.

Only if it is to prevent one being built.

Obama wants energy to be an expensive luxury available only to the elites.

” Could it be because Qatar is the largest exporter of liquid natural gas in the world”

Say what? Last i heard, biggest exporter of LNG was Australia and it isn’t done by pipeline

Self correction. Qatar is indeed the largest LNG exporter. It is not though, transported via pipeline

Finally, we have gotten to the nub of it.....LNG. Pipelines out and who controls it.

All this other BS about Chem Weapons is a distraction from the real truth.

I self corrected myself in that Qatar is indeed the largest LNG exporter. It is not transported by pipeline though

This seems to be Europe’s problem, not ours.

It isn't even Europe's problem unless they want to stick their hands in the meat grinder.

There is no positive outcome in supporting either side.

True but if the natural gas is for the European market, that is a problem for them if they’re not going to be able to get it. Russia seems to hold all the cards there.
