WASHINGTON (AP) New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is helping the Republican National Committee with a series of Texas fundraisers next week as he seeks a second term in his home state.
Christie is headlining three fundraisers in Texas for the RNC on Sept. 9. Organizers say the events include a breakfast in Dallas, a luncheon in San Antonio and a reception in Houston.
Christie is a longtime fan of the Dallas Cowboys and plans to attend the Cowboys' home opener on Sept. 8 with Ray Washburne, a Dallas businessman and the RNC's finance chairman. The Cowboys kick off against the New York Giants, who play in Christie's home state.

Ok. I know he is not the best Republican in the World, but he does have his supporters. Why not go to a blue state with a Republican running who may get some help from Christie. Certainly Texas does not need Christie’s help.
Whoever in Texas would give money to the RINO promoting, amnesty promoting etc. etc. RNC at fundraisers featuring a super-RINO governor from New Jersey?????????
All who show up should be suspects.
I took note of the folks who attended my congressman’s fundraiser featuring Boehner.
ANOTHER NOTE. CHRISTIE RECENTLY SAID HE WOULDN’T HAVE TIME BECAUSE OF HIS RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN TO DRINK WITH RAND PAUL. HE SPOKE OF NEEDING TO SPEND HIS TIME IN NEW JERSEY AND NOT BEING ABLE TO GET DOWN TO DC FOR A VISIT WITH RAND.
IS SOMEONE FIBBING HERE?
I wonder how the Texas Republicans will react to the smell of 0’s feces still on Christie’s nose. I’m guessing Republicans probably won’t have a problem with it, but conservatives probably will.
Good to hear you aren’t in denial.
In Texas you have a group calling itself the “Conservative Republicans of Texas” and then you have another group calling itself the “Real Conservative Republicans of Texas”.
If I lived there and saw that I’d know there’s something funny going on in the politics of the GOP.
Conservative talk is very cheap nowadays, dirt cheap.
Empty words eminate from politicians, talking heads on television and even talk show hosts and their guests.
There are only a few voices out there who speak anything worth listening to.
Bingo, we have a winner. RINO Christie is coming to TX to help the Republican National Committee raise money. NOT for the Texas GOP.
I recently got a telephone call from the RNC with this line "help support our conservative agenda". I informed the lady "wait, before you go any further, the RNC is NOT Conservative. I am conservative and I know the difference.
At the last TX GOP Convention, there was a huge discussion about not making changes in the people from Texas who represent us with the RNC. Yes, the convention was told that they had spent years developing the relationship with the RNC and that we must keep the current people in place to not jeopardize that relationship. NUTS. The Texas GOP has had their nose rubbed in waste by the RNC DC crowd for far too long.
My phone conversation with the lady from the RNC was pretty brief. I told her that I did not have a lot of money, it has been a long time since I made a contribution to the RNC, that I did support the TX GOP and that I fought daily to preserve and support the conservative movement. She was speechless after that.
As republicans go he's about average. But then again the average republican is not conservative. They don't believe in limited government anymore - that died with Reagan. They don't believe the Bill of rights actually means what it says. Freedom of speech killed by McCain-Feingold. Freedom from warrentless search and seizures gone with NSA spying. Second amendment doesn't have a clause restricting the right to keep and bear arms to what the government deems appropriate for the peasants to have, but it was Reagan who signed the full auto ban. Republicans are simply the (slightly) lesser of two evils.
As a native of Houston, I disagree *vehemently* with your assessment! ;-P
(Go Oilers!)
"Whatever happened to the Popular Front of Judea?"
"He's over there."
Christie is headlining in Texas to try and shore up his Republican credentials, not to try and shore up support for the Texas R party, IMO.
