He's a Chief Petty Officer, not a commissioned Officer. For his sake, I hope he's wearing a collection of service ribbons he picked up at the Navy Exchange and not the ones that he's earned. In this day and age he could easily be identified by the devices on his left breast. The rating badge narrows the search down as well.

That said, I think that the Middle East has been the occasion of the expenditure of far too many American deaths. I say evacuate the Christians, Jews and other "Infidels" - quarantine the region and let the kill each other.
