There is no sound strategic reason for the US to get involved in Syria; especially so since the admitted goal of the impending attacks is not to bring down the Assad regime. Obama is getting pounded on both the right AND the left, and his comments, made when he was a US senator, about the need for a president to go to Congress before ordering a strike, have shown him to be a complete, two-faced hypocrite. So then, why is he doing this? Could there be an ulterior motive? Gee, ya think???
So then, why this, and why now?
Surprisingly (or not???) no one has yet attempted to connect the dots..to look for a correlation.
So, what's going on back home:
1. The Obamacare roll-out is a complete fiasco, and getting worse each day.
2. The economy continues to deteriorate , and the jobs numbers are awful.
3. We're just about to blow through the debt ceiling, ahead of schedule, and Obama will now have to fight the GOP to get even a little of what he wants, and needs.
4. More info is starting to come out about Benghazi..slowly..but it is still there, and will only worsen for the administration.
5. The IRS scandal appears ready to explode, with new hearings scheduled..none of which will be good news for the administration.
I've probably missed a few...it's soooo hard to keep current.
So, what better way to deflect attention than stage a nice little war...which will most likely rapidly escalate into a regional conflict...dragging Israel and Iran into the mix.
This will not end well..but maybe it's better than anything else Obama could hope for.
No.
This president doesn’t need wag the dog. He has the media dogs.
It’s getting harder and harder to tell the distractions from the disasters.
This is - and always has been - how Obastard operates.
The answer to a do-or-die crisis or scandal? Create a new one.
Headfaking, slight of hand, bait and switch tactics, deceit and diversions.... all part of the Alinsky playbook.
Obama doesn’t need to bomb Syria to keep Americans minds off the real issues. He just needs to comment on some race-baiting type issue. For the rest of it - he can rely on his lapdogs in the media to talk about anything other than something that might reflect badly on their dear leader.
Wag the Dog was about a phony war.
This is a very real war. One I think we should stay out of, but it is not just a distraction, though it may very well be exploited as such.
OMG
Yes. Clearly.
Oour attention should be focused on Obamacare, amnesty, Benghazi, the IRS, Reportergate, the NSA scandal, the debt limit, and other issues. Instead, we are talking about whether or not to undertake a useless, phony-baloney military strike in Syria that bears no relation to our national interest and likely only benefits Al Qaeda.
And if it goes awry, he gets to blame the Republicans (at least the interventionist wing.)
Obama can’t wait to kill Syrian children based on a lie, merely for his own political benefit.
I watched wag the dog again the other day. I’m even more convinced that movie is way more reflective of what really goes on than we want to admit.....
