Two teenage boys are charged in the bloody beating of Delbert Belton outside a Spokane, Washington ice skating rink and investigators are now suggesting the soldierwho took a bullet in the Battle of Okinawatried to stop the apparent robbery.
Police say that enraged the teens and turned their petty theft into full-blown murder as they continued to beat him into submission with big, heavy flashlights.
Our information is that the individual fought back and that may have made this, you know, a worse situation, said Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub in a Monday press conference.

If only the eventual lynch victims throughout the Old Confederacy had not fought back and infuriated the members of the lynch mob, they might have been turned loose with nothing worse than a severe beating.
Yeah, right. Everybody can see the logic of that.
Is this idiot cop suggesting that the old man should have just rolled over and let these POS thugs get away with it?
Way to go, there Barney Fife...Blame the victim.
God help us!
??/
He died because he fought back??
Did he violate the civil rights of the thugs??
oh man
See, this is the Liberal/Obama method. Just as school children are suppose to run away and not defend themselves, if you are being attacked by hooded thugs you should just give up and let them beat you. If you fight back you deserve to die. See how this works?
I would like to know the size and weight of these two assailants to get a better idea how closely matched the two sides were.
Based on what few details I have seen, I believe that either one of the assailants could have easily overpowered the old man and taken anything they wanted without hurting him.
Don’t fight back and take your beating like a good little slave.
Last week in the formerly fine city of Wilkes-Barre, PA. a black drug dealer shot two babies, ages 5 and 2. Deliberately. As a message to the other dealer who moved in on his territory.
The perp has not yet been apprehended.
Brave New World.
Spokane prides itself on being a liberal city.

Chief Straub is a t**d. Like most liberal politicians - and make no bones about it - police chiefs are NOT law enforcement officers - they are politicians - he feels citizens should quietly submit to barbarians and leave their defence to the constabularly.
My deepest regret is this American hero didn’t have a Garand or M1911 on him to exterminate those vermin who so viciously attacked him. I KNOW he would have used them well.
I’m SURE their attorney will troop out a whole pack of relatives and “character” witnesses at the trial to attempt to demonstrate these mutants are capable of being reformed.
Even if they are - the only transformation they deserve is into the dust from which they were created - as soon as possible.
I'm sorry but, if need be, I going out like Shorty did - swinging!
We really need to find some real damn men and put them in office.
We don't need a TEA Party as much as we need a BALLs Party!
The criminal justice business will never charge a black with a hate crime!
You know the really sad thing? Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub will have a Concealed Carry Permit for life, but war hero Delbert Belton would have been a criminal if he had armed himself for his own protection.
Chief, sometimes you just need to STFU and not cause a feeding frenzy with some misplaced statement....
Instead of being politically correct why don’t you tell the truth and say the ferals where going to kill him anyway?
You would not be able to teach in a college today with that attitude!
Not at Hillsdale anyway.
There should be a Lemon Law pertaining to police chiefs, as there is one for clunker automobiles.
He is not a cop and would either have to become a rookie or be a high priced administrator and Spokane would need a police chief besides!
See my comments about “Police” chiefs.
