It seems like a kind of vague statement from Abbott. Did anyone drill down into what he meant by his statement, or was this just more divided-and-conquered media BS?
Very much disappointed
But not surprised. Abbott is a Rick Perry protege.
SO far its looking like I might as well sleep in on the next election day.
Thanks for the ping!
Is there a primary?
Who is also going to run?
If I do not get a true Reagan conservative, I am not in support. Christie has NO chance. Period
BUMP
Essh. No kidding, but honestly, I not surprised.
It seems no matter how conservative we think a politician, they always choose a big government solution.
I just received a hoity-toity Houston fundraiser invite for Abbott. This helps me with my RSVP :(
Very disappointed, too. I had higher hopes for Abbott.

Not sure what other Repubbies are running with/against Abbott...but I.P. Freely/Windy’s run is not hurt by this :(
*sigh*
Hard to enforce immigration laws when Texas brought in the DREAM Act several years ago. More perks for illegals. More fleecing of the US citizen taxpayers.
No thanks to Kay Bailey Hutchinson for allowing lawsuits to be brought against the fence so that it wouldn’t be built.
Thanks for the heads up.
It's a sad, sad day. Abbott blindsided me with this. I would have never thought he'd turn out to be a pro-illegals RINO.
I hope he knows that he just lost the support of the Tea Party in Texas because of this.
First, thank you for the ping.
I don’t like this worth a d*mn. But I wasn’t blindsided in the least. Most politicians in states with a large Hispanic population will take the same stance.
Before I completely throw Abbott under the bus, I think I’ll see how reasonable Pauken’s or possibly Wendy’s stance on the issue is.
I am Tea Party as well...but since we operate independently??
Myself..I have absolutely no ambition to vote third party on a state level and possibly turn this state Dem..I’ll wait and see what may happen.
Only if they're taking huge donations from the pro-illegal business crowd.
Studies have shown that pandering to Hispanics on the basis of race, or amnesty for illegals, hasn't moved the needle for Republicans a single inch. They still vote overwhelmingly for Democrats no matter how much Republicans try to please them.
If there's no profit in supporting 'comprehensive immigration reform' in the vote arena, then there's only one other reason for a Republican to do so -- money.
Don't know if you watched the video or not, but Abbott sat there and lied when he said that Hispanics in Texas are conservative (implying that they'll vote with us if Congress makes them legal).
It's just shameful. I'm just sick of politicians selling me out in favor of foreigners, then expecting me to vote for them.
I hate that I have become such a cynic. :(
Politicians are going to do what benefits them. I will not name names...but I include all of them.
When the immigration issue came up last time I e-mailed, called and visited offices. It was stopped. It won’t be this time. The Pubs have decided it’s a great idea.
Like I said...I want to see what Pauken has to say that might trump the Feds...or if Wendy declares, ya know what she will say.
