Here’s my reform: Enforce immigration laws and arrest and try any politician for treason who supports amnesty.

More like a non-system.

Lawlessness rulz the day.

Passing new laws is an exercise in futility.

The current system is causing huge problems, because IT ISN’T BEING USED.

The system is fine, it is a result of the last Amnesty, and it would work, if we closed the border to illegals, if we deported those already here, and if we saw to it that those deported did not return.

If the new Amnesty is passed it will be the same way.

We will not close the borders nor return those who come in illegally. How will that solve the problem?

Answer: It will not, it will only get worse.

It is time for the States to call a Constitutional Convention!

“because the current system is causing huge problems for states”

Liar! How would he know - we don’t use the current system. Neither party will enforce existing law and will thwart any attempt to do so.

If you don’t control the border then all else is meaningless.

There’s supposed to be a fence. Where is it?

Build the fence, enforce existing law, and STFU.

I support amnesty, in the sense that illegal aliens are permitted to leave for their home country immediately and are not molested as they do so.

I would fingerprint them, so if they apply for US entry in the future we would have evidence of them disobeying US law, and they could be denied entry, but as long as they returned home and stayed they would not be bothered.

Of course they should take their US born children with them, and those children would then not be subject to US jurisdiction, and would not be citizens.

Imagine, if they went home they would be legal, and could vote.

Why does this otherwise solid guy believe that “immigration reform” is needed?

Enforce existing law.

Why? 30 million in campaign donations over half from less than 300 donors. He figures he can ride out any storm with the money holding that position brings.

You can’t be “otherwise conservative” and support amnesty.

Honestly, I haven’t heard him say anything specific about any existing legislation like the gang of eight is proposing.

Abbott is well respected in TX. He had a twitter event and I kept lobbing very specific immigration questions...well you can guess NONE were addressed. He chose to address hostile liberals and push inclusiveness (in Spanish). I took a screenshot of my tweets to him. Please tell your fellow Texans about him. To me he is the ANTI-SHERIFF JOE candidate here in Texas.

All of this amnesty push could be primarily oriented towards making 0bama legally legal.

I watched the video of Greg Abbott’s interview with Newsmax.com and from all I can tell, he’s spouting the same talking points as every other pro-illegal Republican, with just one exception — he mentions closing the southern border down.

What a supreme disappointment. I was ready to throw my full support to him too. Not a chance after what I just heard.
